Insta Friday

It’s Friday people and the weekend is always welcomed.  I’ve got some crafty plans to make happen and I’m pretty excited about them.  Other than that, not much is on our weekend agenda…I love when that happens.  I love low key, not very busy weekends.  And for Insta Friday, I present to you the craziness that is my Instagram feed.  I’m pitterpatterart.  Enjoy.

Wee Kelleys unrolling an entire roll of toilet paper did not sit well with this momma.  They each had to pay me $1 out of their piggy banks.  They were heartbroken.  I don’t think they will be unrolling toilet paper rolls anymore.  Lesson learned.

Amon puked his ever loven’ guts up last Friday night for about 3 hours.  It was P.I.T.I.F.U.L.  Nothing says super sad, like a dry heaving baby on your bedroom floor.  The next day, he was good to go.

Key fobs for daaaayyysss! (all sold)

Huddy makes paper guns and/or knives and/or any other type of weapon 99.9% of his time.

Krogers Valentines Day prep.

His eyelashes.  Any woman would kill for them.  I’m resisting the urge to slather them in mascara.  They would be the bomb.

This canvas headed to Lindy this week…this crazy amazing, totally boss lady.  You can read her story HERE.  I can’t really encourage you enough to read about Lindy and her sweet husband Chad and her crazy sweet little boy Beren.  You will be blessed.  Like their page, pray for their family and if you feel led, donate to their medical fund.  I find myself thinking of Lindy every single day now as I do my daily mom thing.  God is using this woman.  #believeinLindy

I went to the post office at 4:50am before my run one day this week.  Ummmm, the post office that early in the morning is TOTALLY creepers.  Like totally, totally creepers.

Be still my cupcake themed baby shower heart.  Cupcake liner garland.  Insert big lovely sigh.

Bad hair days are clearly real days for babies too.  It reminds me of Nick Nolte’s mug shot.  You know the one.

At least one day a week every seat in our van is filled and I find myself laughing out loud because literally I cannot hear myself think.  Love these crazy kiddos.

I like her.  The end.

This is, no joke, only half of Huddy’s paper gun collection.  I threw away so many paper guns yesterday while he was in school.  And this does not include his paper knife and other various paper weapons collection.  I sent Josh a picture and hash tagged it #shouldwebeworried.  He replied with #everyoneelseshouldbeworried.  I laughed so hard I cried.

And not to be partial, but this was probably my most favorite valentine from yesterday.  This kid kills me.

That wraps up another Insta Friday.  Thanks for stopping by and reading my little crazy quirky piece of the internet.  Hope you have an incredibly grand weekend.

Happy Friday!

My Valentines

Every valentines I give the kids jelly beans and books.  This morning I was running when they woke up, but Josh said Huddy had a Christmas morning reaction to their valentine surprises and exclaimed, “The Easter bunny came to see us.”  Nailed it.

Harper’s beans had been snagged at this point.

The weather was amazing today.  Like tee and flip flop weather.  I came so close to wearing my flip flops.  I spent most of the day with Amon.  He’s joy.  Someone asked if he ever frowns…he does sometimes, but this kid seriously blows us away…the happiest baby I’ve ever seen.

We went to Harper’s ice cream valentines party.  Amon was a big hit.  He got quite a bit of love and it was super fun to watch Harper and her class go through all their valentines.  Way cute.

We ate a lot of sweet treats today.  Like a lot, a lot.  Maybe they’ll sugar crash in their sleep and we’ll dodge the misbehaving wee Kelleys.  But a sugar crash is just part of Valentines…it’s tradition.

I got some serious snuggles before bed too and we read some of their new books.  I always do pictures in stages in hopes of getting a good smiley one.  Always works.

Silly face.

Mad Face.

Suppose to be serious face, but I was the only one who succeeded.

And happy.  This is the one I was after…hard work pays off.

Everyone went to bed early and then Josh Kelley and I enjoyed an in-home-date-night with wings and cupcakes.  It’s pretty much the direct route to my heart.

It was quite the lovely day.  It was full of sweets…sugary ones and wee Kelley ones and Josh Kelley himself.  Hope you all had a lovely Valentines and felt smothered in love today.

Happy Thursday <3 Day.

Running, Baking & A Natural Waist Line

This dude is a crazy man now.  He is all over the place and into everything.  Today while I was baking he dumped out a box of spaghetti not once, but twice.  Geez.  But seriously, how could I be too mad.

Sol said, “Let’s do kiss faces.”  Done.

Harper had her Fun Run today at school.  We all decided to go and cheer her on.  I am so glad we did.  She just beamed the whole time and I may have cried…a lot.  Every picture I have of her is just a blur.  She ran the whole time and was sweaty at the end.  I’m still running my way to 62 miles this month and this made me super excited about the possibility that one day we may run together.  She even said when she got in the car, “The Fun Run was my favorite part of the day.  I really want to do that again.  Can I run with you in the mornings now…and on Saturdays and Sundays too?”

I did a crazy amount of baking today.  Last night way way too late, I baked a gooey butter cake to share.  It was so late I ended up going to bed right after I pulled it out of the oven and then got up at 2:15am to cut it up and put in the refrigerator.  It had to cool.  Then today I baked sugar cookies and chocolate cupcakes and red velvet cupcakes and snickerdoodles.  I did some sampling, but will happily drop goodies off tomorrow…just to say, “Hey we dig you.”  Baked goods can totally change the world.  Mark it.

And this is Huddy’s natural waist line.  That’s about all I feel really needs to be said.  And, you’re welcome.

Hope your day was stellar.  Excited for a lovely Valentines tomorrow.

Happy Wednesday!

It’s The Little Things…

that totally make my day…really, my week.

It may seem small and not so grand to some, but wow…to our family it’s awesome.  We are so proud and just think he is making great strides.  It’s kind of crazy amazing being his mom.

Happy Tuesday!

Getting Our Valentine On

How was your weekend?  I hope it was really great.  Ours was pretty lovely.  Saturday’s sale was amazing.  I was once again humbled and blown away.  God is too good.  Thank you guys so much.  There is one canvas still available and I’ll probably just leave it up for a while.  You can check it out here.

The weather here was too pretty for most of the weekend.  The kids played outside a ton.  Our canoe is now the cool hang out spot.  I heard Huddy telling Harper the other day, “I told Sol a secret under the canoe.”  It’s tilted up, so they can crawl underneath it too.  Now that I read that back…it doesn’t sound too safe.  #parentsoftheyear…again

We basically chilled in our pjs almost the whole weekend.  We needed some slow time.

Josh is getting acquainted with his iPhone.  I loved looking over and seeing them all trying to get in a picture together.  Still trying to talk him into Instagram…I’ll keep pressuring him until he caves.

We also got our Valentine on.  This week is super busy, but I know will be super fun.  We have Valentines parties and school fundraisers and at-home-dates planned…oh and lots of baking.  We’re sharing the baked good love this week.  So I knew we needed to knock out all the valentines prep this weekend.

Harper picked out cute little 6 packs of Valentine pins in the $1 bin at Michaels.  We cut out some foam hearts, pinned the pin in the middle and she decorated them as she pleased.  Her teacher even sent home a sheet of hearts with all her classmates names, so she just cut those little hearts out and taped them on.  Done.

The boys were a different story.  They decided they wanted to make arrows…out of sticks…for their friends.  Huddy actually talked about sword valentines, but then went with Sol on the arrow idea.  Hmmmm, this is the type of dilemma you likely avoid with girls.  I debated…do I just make them pick something different or do I go with the stick arrow Valentines?  I decided to indulge them…I appreciated their creativity.

Then it started raining before we went to gather sticks.  Josh swooped in remembering we had some wooden skewers.  I cut out felt hearts…Huddy insisted the arrows still had hearts…and hot glued them as the arrowhead.  Then we needed to figure out the feather part.  Josh Kelley again swooped in, grabbed a roll of washi tape and worked his magic.  So so easy and waaaaaay cute.  The boys were thrilled.  They helped with attaching the kit-kats and picked which arrow went to which friend and signed their names.

Amon wasn’t much help.  He just hung out…looking all cute and jazz.

And now I can cross valentines off my list.  I’m going to bake like crazy this week…really yummy stuff…and today I’m packaging up canvases and key fobs to ship out.  If you have already paid for your items, your goodies will go out tomorrow.  Hope everyone has a fantastic start to their week.

Happy Monday.

Insta Friday + Saturday Sale Details

I’ve been working like crazy and getting everything ready for tomorrow’s sale.  There will be 11 canvases up for grabs along with several key fob sets.  The sale will begin at 6pm central time.  I don’t like having the sale so late on a Saturday, but Josh is working tomorrow, so this was the time that worked best.  All the items will be posted under the “Currently Available” tab above.  Price and size will be posted with each piece.  You may purchase as many pieces as your sweet heart desires :) Just send me an email using the “Contact Laura” button above and let me know which piece or pieces you would like.  These will go first come, first email.  Once the sale starts I’ll hang around my computer pretty steadily and get back with people as quickly as possible and will also update the page letting others know which items have sold and which items are still available.  I think that about wraps up the details.

Now for Insta Friday…all my crazy, random Instagram photos from the week.  I’m pitterpatterart if you want to follow along.  Btw:  Josh Kelley just got an iPhone, so I am super excited that he is going to be on Instagram.  Now I just have to talk him into getting the app and participating.

Huddy is my stresser kid.  Things just stress him out…like the possibility of bears in our backs yard or when Amon eats a piece of paper…you would have thought the kid put a knife in his mouth by Huddy’s reaction.  Also movies.  I was cracking up watching him watch a Ninja Turtles movie.  Love him.

Amon would make a crazy pretty girl.  Gosh.

I easily blow my Instagram feed up with his sweet face.  It’s kind of hard to resist.

Sol and Huddy have these metal lunchboxes where they keep all their special treasures.  “Treasures” translates to acorns, Chuck E Cheese tokens, sunglasses, baseball cards, headlamps…you get the picture.  I was in their room the other day and noticed Sol’s box open and this sweet button of Sol and Grammy right on top.  My kids miss her like crazy and struggle some days.  We have Harper in some grief counseling right now and she really likes it.  When I thought about someone dying before I never realized how deep and wide spread it affects things…it touches every little piece of your life…it changes things.  I’m thanking God He’s in the business of healing and restoring.

This week was an awesome week for Amon…lots of new tricks…including pulling up in his crib.  He is changing so much and it is just an honor and pleasure to witness.  We are madly blessed.

“It’s like feeding a cow.” -Solomon Kelley

They make my heart soar.  They are best friends and goodness is this little brotherly bond tight.  I could have sat down and cried a big river when I saw them measuring who was taller in the bathroom…I don’t know if I’m going to make it…my heart can’t handle it.

Have I mentioned Courtney is preggo?  Well she is.  And she’s due in April.  I’ve been gearing up for the sweetest cupcake baby shower ever.  I cannot wait to celebrate sweet Delaney.

We had a home study with our social worker this week.  We love our social worker…she’s the best.  I wore turquoise eye shadow.  Home studies are totally appropriate times for rocken’ eye shadow.

Amon and I waiting for Coop to get out of school.  He was easily the cutest baby in the car rider line…always is.  I’m probably a bit partial though.

Artsy goal list.  I did pretty well.  Got to cross a lot of things off.

LOVE.BOTH.OF.THEM.  They make it so easy.

When Josh has to work nights I tend to only do breakfast foods for dinner.  Including an entire plate of cinnamon toast on my Aunt Martha’s homemade wheat sour dough bread.  Boom.

A crowd gathers when I blow dry my hair.

This sick kid can still bust out a killer smile.  He melts me.

Hey dude, you’ve got a puff stuck to your chest.

And my Friday got even better when Josh Kelley walked in the door at lunch with a cranberry sprite…they speak to me…they could be my love language.

Okay.  The End.  Maybe I’ll “see you” tomorrow around 6pm.  Excited to see how this sale goes.  Thank you guys for stopping by.  It’s kind of crazy cool that anyone even reads my tiny pieces of the internet.  Thank you.  For reals.  Have a grand weekend.

Happy Friday.

Long Day #2

Thank you for the teething tips.  Apparently I am going to need to find these said magic teething tablets and give them a go.  Ashley sent me this text today and right when I read it I immediately knew what she was talking about.

I’m so tired I don’t even know how old my kids are.  Amon is 10-months-old…not 9-months-old…as I stated yesterday.  At least I wasn’t like years off or anything.  Ashley got a pretty big kick out of it.  Of course she did.  {Insert raised eyebrow.}  And because I know some of you are wondering…I changed my hash tag to #parentsoftheyear

Sol is still sick.  Not sure what is up with the kid, but I kicked it at home today with just my Ethiopian dudes.  I thought he was getting better…he even worked on his birthday thank you cards.

And then when I went to run with my niece Campbell this afternoon, Sol spiked a high fever and puked his guts up at my MIL’s house.  Awesomeness.  When we got home he immediately fell asleep…again…sitting straight up.  He is all kinds of pitiful.

Amon was funny at lunch.  I couldn’t choose just one of these pics to post.  He just makes my heart super happy.

He started trying to look under and around the camera at me and it was totally cracking me up.

Harper’s school is doing a Fun Run fundraiser.  They get pledges for each lap they run and they also get prizes for the amount of pledges they bring in.  Harper got these little ditties today at school.  Rad right?

(Pic courtesy of her incredibly, amazing teacher)

I received this email today.  Yes, a fly fishing film tour can be “bad-ass”.  I may have just cracked myself up all over again.  Like, I’m laughing pretty hard.  And yes, Josh and I do go to the fly fishing film tour.  What can I say…we must be pretty BA as well 🙂

I was able to finish a few more pieces for Saturday’s sale.  I’m getting kind of excited again.  Eeeek.  I’m still working out the details…specifically the time because Josh has to work this Saturday.  I’ll let you know for sure tomorrow.

11×14 “All was well” Mumford & Sons canvas

10×10 “You’re my Sweetheart” Lumineers canvas

8×8 “Set Free” canvas

How’s that for a random post.  A little parent failure, a little puke, some cute kiddos, a little cussing and some artwork.  Sounds about right.  Hope everyone had a great day.  See you tomorrow.

  Happy Thursday.

Long Day

Today was a long day and I am T.I.R.E.D.  At this point I would like to mention how much I hate…yes, I’m using hate for this…teething.  It’s right up there with Satan himself.  Amon is just a big mess of drool and snot and throw in some inconsolable anger every now and then…and oh yeah, waking up like a wee crazy in the night.  Josh and I are zonked.  But hey, things could easily be worse, so I’ll take a teething 9-month-old easily.  Plus he does have fabulous hair.

And now my days are filled with keeping him wrangled.  He’s everywhere and into everything.  It’s so funny how in just a few days they can totally change.  I love the strides he’s made in no time.  We now have to block off the steps and forget me ever taking a peaceful shower for the next 1-2 years.  He’s right by the tub now, jerking the curtain back and creeping me out.

Oh and Sol is sick.  Boo for sick kids.  He just laid on the couch all day and slept.  He fell asleep just like this.

After we picked Harper up from school, I took them to Sonic for a little happy hour love.  Word.  I knew Sol was really sick when he only asked for a Sprite…no slushy?!?!?!  It must be something serious.

And since Sol was out of playing commission today, Huddy spent the majority of the day drawing and cutting and gluing paper weapons, which meant I got to finish up several pieces that were overdue for completion.

(2) 9×12 “This is not our home” Hebrews 13:14-15 canvas

11×14 Ragamuffin Gospel quote over maps canvas

11×14 Exodus 14:14 canvas

These will all be up for sale this Saturday on my site.  I’m hoping to have several more finished to go along with these.  The sale will be very similar to the last Saturday Sale I held…except the time will be different.  I will post all the details Friday…still working them out.

Now I’m off the get my art on and hopefully go to bed at a somewhat decent hour, only to be awakened by a pissed off teething baby just a few hours later.  Life is grand though…it really is.  Wouldn’t trade it for anything…except maybe 8 hours of sleep.  I kid.

Happy Wednesday!
