Insta Friday

The weekend is upon us which brings fun and magical adventures.  I haven’t done an Insta Friday in quite some time.  All these pictures are from my Instagram.  You can find me at pitterpatterart to follow along.

Harper sometimes gets overwhelmed by the boys’ never ending energy and makes her retreat.  She’ll climb up on her top bunk along with her bean bag and a book.  It’s her perfect little retreat away from the wild, chaos which is our home is 96.1% of the time.  God love her…I just want to crawl up there and hide out with her 🙂

He’s the best lunch date around.  Give him all the mustard and pickles and turkey and cheese of the world.  And every now and then I let him have his own personal Sprite and it’s as if I hung the moon.

This my friends is the best bubble blowing gum around.  We’re talking bubbles the size of my head.  I’m clearly a 10-year-old stuck in a 31-year-olds body.

Hudson took up swimming this season.  The dude cannot get enough and has set out to work on his strokes so he can take on more triathlons this coming spring.  He’s a fierce one who marches to his own little drum.

They are the best of buds.  She obliges to the craziest things just for him.  They forged the sweetest bond when they met in Ethiopia over 3 year ago.  It makes me all kinds of weepy and thankful to God for His wonderful plans we could never even have fathomed.

And the roles are reversed with these two.  Amon obliges to the craziest of things just for her.  He has definitely taken on the roll of big brother so very well.  She wears him out and he is steadfast.  We’re going to miss this little nugget when she goes home.

They fight hard, but they love harder.  Watching them be brothers…press on in their brotherhood…is one of the greatest gifts.  Never in my wildest dreams could I have conjured this goodness up…squirrel watching at its finest.

And tippy toes forever.  She is the sweetest most legit firecracker around.  The girl has big emotions and big love.  Had to capture this maxed out toe action before I made her totally cross and swept her away from her beloved water fountain.

Hope your weekend is awesome.  Soak it up.

Happy Friday!

Insta Friday

We’ve got a big fun weekend ahead of us and I’ve been running nonstop today, so thought I’d post just a quick Insta-Friday with some Instagram pics.  You can find me at pitterpatterart if you want to follow along.  Instagram is one of my top favorite apps.

I don’t own one single pair of high heel shoes.  Mom was the queen of fun, fancy high heels and right after she died Harper asked for a few pairs.  She still walks around the house wearing them and it always makes me smile.

Ever get almost to the end of your grocery shopping with your littles and realize a shoe has gone MIA?  It’s a moment of dropping my head low, admitting defeat and then back tracking to find that solo lost shoe.

They are getting ridiculously big.  And Amon is clearly Solomon’s weird face making apprentice.

A little pretty and colorful paint palette love.  Someone on instagram pointed out all the little heart shaped reflections and it made me swoon even harder.

Baseball has begun and I’m pretty excited to cheer these guys on along with all their sweet teammates.  We were born for the ball field.  It runs deep in our blood.

This dude has a birthday next week and we celebrated with family a little early.  This was his first birthday party and when we all gathered around and sang to him he beamed and sang right along with us with all his beautiful little heart.  Made me completely teary eyed.

Spring is officially here.  Sunshine and flip-flops are where it’s at.

I’ve convinced my friend Jess to become a permanent running partner and it is the best.  I have so missed running with friends, but I am loving the HIIT treadmill plans I’ve been doing.  Jess is the most scheduled, organized person I know, so I laughed so hard and out loud at this text.

Aunt Jen gave Amon a Furreal cat for his birthday because he is obsessed with her cat.  Amon is now obsessed with Cat and takes him/her (gender varies on the day to day) everywhere.  Today they did a little Krogering.

And lastly, I still have spots available for my April 18th Bible journaling class.  You can read all the details HERE.  Shoot me a message if you are interested in joining us.  So excited.

Happy Friday party people.  Enjoy your weekend.

Insta Tuesday

Thought I’d drop in and do a little Instagram pictureness for the night.  I’m pitterpatterart on Instagram if you want to follow along.

Hudson and Amon are always the fist awake in our house.  Hudson literally falls asleep within minutes of his head hitting his pillow and wakes up and immediately hits the ground running.  Most of the time he has created something from paper or legos before he even leaves the house for school.  This was his alien and with a laser gun.  And I love his hair.

This is our house.  The traditional “no throwing  balls in the house” rule was never even an option.  I remember when we discussed house rules when Harper was a baby and when considering this rule Josh Kelley said, “But balls are meant to be thrown.”

Harper is the artsy creating kid.  She paints and makes and crafts and now, looms her little heart out.  She made a loom bracelet for all her classmates and teacher.  She writes letters and wraps up fun little quirky gifts.  I like her a lot.

These yahoos went roller skating the other day…and laser tagging…and bowling…and bumper car riding.  They were all sweaty.  And totally goofy.  My favorite was watching them roller-skate.  Everyone had noodle legs and was terrible.  So so funny.

Another goal for 2015…rid my shoes of stench.  I’ve tried so many things, but thought, what the heck, it’s a new year, I’ll give this another go.  I’m here to accomplish the impossible in 2015.  And then some ladies on Instagram said to dump baking soda in my shoes and stick them in the freezer.  Josh Kelley is fearful our frozen hamburgers will taste like feet, but I’m going to give it a try.  Wish me luck.

This was us Christmas morning.  I feel like it speaks volumes about our hot-mess-ness.  And Solomon’s shooting guns…oh wow, how I love that kid…he’s a committed little funny picture taker.

This.

Josh Kelley Fun Fact:  He’s amazing at watercolor paintings.  He used to paint all the time, but doesn’t much anymore.

While cleaning out a giant watercolor pad of his I found a baby Harper watercolored hand print.  I cut it out and then compared.  Sigh.

And my favorite purchase of 2015 was my journaling Bible.  It’s my jam.

Happy Tuesday night!

Monday.

Instagram recap with backstories?  Sure, what the heck.  It’s Monday and I’m already tired and need a nap.  You can find me at pitterpatterart and follow along.

That time I tried taking a sweet sentimental picture of Harper girl and myself.  Only to realize when looking more closely at the photo I apparently was a hater that day and trying to shoot the Instagram world a bird.  It happens.

Tea time because she is easily the most patient big sister with her littlest brother.  You may be shocked to know 🙂 but Amon is not the most well mannered tea guest…demanding he pour his own tea, knocking over cups and saucers left and right, taking Harper’s utensils when she’s not looking.  Another jewel in her crown for not giving him the boot from her room asap.  And come on Belle…put some pants on, it’s a tea party!

Yet another birthday celebration in my esteemed honor.  What a night.  Crazy fun, but I was super bummed at the end of the night when I realized I had lost my beloved Noonday Berry Clustered Bracelet.  I later noticed apparently this happened when excitedly blowing out 32 candles on one single cupcake.  My sweet Everest Bracelet had come unclasped and my Berry is missing!  Say it aint so.  Thank goodness I noticed my Everest unclasped and saved that little gem because hello…it’s seriously my fave!

Side note:  Christmas is right around the corner…only 6 Saturdays to go…mind blown right?!?!?!  Noonday is spot on for the most perfect gifts…shopping with a purpose.  Head over to Ashley’s Noonday Site…load up on goodies…and make sure you choose Ashley Mills as your ambassador.  She’s the best!!!!  End Side Note.

Yet another another birthday celebration.  Courtney = my jam!

Amon wears only hand-me-downs and all is right with the world.  I made this hedgehog shirt for Hudson and I totally love Amon rocking it now.  I do still make tees every now and then so shoot me a message HERE if you would like to order.

This weekend the weather was perfect for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows.  I like the old school jet-puff marshmallows too…they instantly take me straight back to my childhood…give me all the high fructose corn syrup…I don’t even care.  I would also like to point out Hudson is wearing Harper’s pink striped coat and Solomon is wearing her purple ruffle coat.  Also when the fire got low and we were out of wood Josh Kelley threw in a carved pumpkin.  #truestory

And lastly, I feel like I am doing work for the kingdom when I have to take all four kids to the doctors office at the same time.  This happens 99.4% of the time.  May the Lord bless me with many many jewels in my crown for this motherly service.

Another week people.  I predict it will be a crazy, but oh so very good one.

Happy Monday!

Heavy On The Amon

Random collection of Instagram pictures for today…don’t mind if I do.  You can find me at pitterpatterart.

Crazy amazing sky the other morning.  Zero filter needed because, well, it was awesome all on its own.

A super adorable running partner makes 4 miles a little more tolerable.  Especially when he says “I pet” and “monkey” every time he sees a squirrel.

See that bright red cherry icee…that’s almost all the way full…sitting on my Mom’s lovely quilt, well about 2.5 seconds after I took this picture the boy toddler child with the curly hair knocked it over to which he replied, “Wha happen?”  A++ on the talking, F–on the permanent stain.

Have I mentioned lately I like this girl?  Can you tell she’s my sanity?

We almost experienced a random sleeping moment.  So close, but he perked up and started running circles through the kitchen.  And why yes, he does eat lunch on the kitchen floor a lot.

Practice, practice and more practice.  Love focussing in on words God brings to light.

Amon doesn’t believe in a thing called ‘personal space’ and he never meets a man who is a stranger…ladies are a different story.  Amon wore this guy out.  Never really decided how I thought the man felt about it.

Sidenote:  Toddlers in flat bill hats are AWESOME!  End Sidenote.

And you guys, this poor poor dog.  He had no chance.  It reminded me so much of Lenny from Of Mice And Men.  They just couldn’t help themselves.  And don’t you think the “dog” looks more like a cat?!?!?!

You can find me on Instagram at pitterpatterart.

Enjoy your Thursday.  Hey, tomorrow is Friday…[insert raise the roof hands]…things are looking up!

Friday’s Ramble

Amon and I just got home from dropping the big kids off at school.  So far we are loving our new school home.  God keeps confirming in our hearts this is in fact the place for us at this time.  We did have one minor set back in a not so kind worded lady in the lunchroom, but that’s life, so we’re all working through the drama.  A firm reminder to all of us how important our words are…once they have left our mouths we cannot take them back so will we choose to build people up or tear people down?!?!  A good reminder for all of us…children and parents alike.

With the absence of the big kids during our days the house is so quiet.  And honestly Amon is a little lonely.  He spends the first 10 minutes of our return home just wandering around asking where Harper, Hudson and Solomon are.  It’s adorable and pitiful all smashed together.

This morning I get to blog like this:

He misses them.

On the blog agenda for today is simply instagram pictures.  My mind is a little all over the place with a million and one thoughts, so I’m going mindless and simple for today.  Do you have instagram?  Want to follow along?  You can find me at pitterpatterart.

Side Note:   In the time I wrote the above paragraph Amon asked 10 times over, “Dat?” pointing to his own picture.  I replied answering each time the same, “That’s Amon.”  To which he replied with, “Ohhhhhhhh.”  Shocker.  End Side Note.

Okay, back to the task at hand.  Have you guys heard of ACuppaKim‘s mug swap?  If not, you’re missing out.  I didn’t sign up in time last year, so this year I was on it and made it in.  So excited.  I got my mug purchased along with some fun goodies to go with it, packaged and all mailed off this week.  Crossing all fingers and toes my mug makes it in one piece.  I bubble wrapped and added crinkle paper and wrote “fragile” 8 times around the box.  I’m a bit hopeful.

We’re a game family.  Our top games currently are Jenga, Uno, Mancala and Mr. Mouth.  Josh Kelley and myself may be accidentally passing on our competitive nature.

Anytime we have the opportunity to get together with our friends to celebrate anything with no children around is kind of a great night.  I love our kids and I love our friends kids, but I love when we get to talk and connect just us adults…even better as couples.  Last weekend we celebrated the soon arrival of baby Olive with a little couples dinner party.  Adults only.  It was straight up divine.  And our friends Jason and Jessica’s house is amazing!

Tall trees.  Comfy oversized quilt.  Ice cream cones.  And school talk.  Perfection of an afternoon.

These two are killing my heart lately with all their grown-upness.  They are my two most favorite 5-year-olds in all the world.

Have you seen the new Noonday fall line?  Wowzers.  Love it.  I now have a long list of purchases I will be needing to make.  If you want to order something head over to my best friend Ashley’s page and check out the new collection.  She is one rockin’ Noonday ambassador.

Also I’m having a Noonday party in September.  More details to come, but it’s going to be awesome.  Ashley’s driving in from Florida to host my party and is also hosting some more parties for other ladies while she’s in town.  If you’re a local Nashvillian and want to host a party where woman can purchase amazing goods to help empower woman around the world Ashley will be here the 2nd week in September.  Ashley is your girl.  The sweetest.  The nicest.  The most fun and sincere.  The best.  Or if you are a Floridian and want to host a party (depending on where you live in Florida) Ashley is your girl too.  The sweetest.  The nicest.  The most fun and sincere.  The best.  Do you feel the love I have for this lady?!?!?  Do you feel the love I have for this company?!?!?  They are both the real deal, super legit, total world changers.  Shoot her an email at ashleymills.noonday at gmail dot com if you are interested.

And oh the home changes and prep we have been doing around the Kelley casa.  We’re sitting tight, loving on our house and being open to whatever God has planned for us…all 6 of us.  I have had the greatest peace and assurance and have been frequenting Home Depot.  It’s my current home prep jam and the Kelley kids dig it too.

Hope everyone has a crazy good Friday and a wonderful weekend.  Enjoy it.  Peace out!

Doing What I Do Best

Rambling.  It’s what I’m good at.  I should probably become a more focussed blogger.  Really hone in on something deep and enlightening.  Gosh.  I’m entirely too scatter brained to do something like that.  And throw in a good long weekend with extra Josh Kelley around and I’m all kinds of thrown off…in the best kind of way.  I heart extra long weekends.

So when your mind is in disarray…when all else fails to make much sense in your brain…when you’re recovering from a long weekend…the infamous instgram post will have to do.  Are you on instagram?  You can find me at pitterpatterart.

Crafting on our patio is one of my most favorite things…especially when I don’t have to drag out a lot of supplies and there is baseball practice going on in the background.

We’ve decided to change their names to Beavis and Butthead.  Aaaaaand I just totally cracked myself up.  #teepeeformybunghole  (You didn’t realize you were going to be getting so much profanity today did you?!?!?!)

Tea time is totally legit with this guy.  Tea is no joke with him.  Until he dumps the entire pot of water out all over himself.

Running is still going good.  I’ve been doing lots of interval training to increase my speed.  April was a big 70+ mile month which was great to hit.  And May has been cray so I’ll be glad to hit 50.  Anyone else do interval training and want to share their plan?  I’d love to see what you’re up to.

This is so grainy, but it’s an Amon sleeping picture, so of course, I love it.  He was sitting in my lap while I was cutting fabric and then bam!  Just like that.  Out.

This girl is in full summer break swing.  Sleeping late.  Soaking it up.  Just enjoying herself.  I do think the boys are already grating on her nerves a bit though 🙂

And we’ve been frequenting the park.  Bikes.  Hikes. Running.  Picnics.  Playgrounds.  Basketball goals.  Water fountains.  Unafraid squirrels.  Honeysuckle slurping.  Summer is the best.

So maybe tomorrow I’ll do better…a little more focussed.  Maybe not 🙂

Hope your weekend was long and good too.  Happy Tuesday!
