Insta Tuesday

Thought I’d drop in and do a little Instagram pictureness for the night.  I’m pitterpatterart on Instagram if you want to follow along.

Hudson and Amon are always the fist awake in our house.  Hudson literally falls asleep within minutes of his head hitting his pillow and wakes up and immediately hits the ground running.  Most of the time he has created something from paper or legos before he even leaves the house for school.  This was his alien and with a laser gun.  And I love his hair.

This is our house.  The traditional “no throwing  balls in the house” rule was never even an option.  I remember when we discussed house rules when Harper was a baby and when considering this rule Josh Kelley said, “But balls are meant to be thrown.”

Harper is the artsy creating kid.  She paints and makes and crafts and now, looms her little heart out.  She made a loom bracelet for all her classmates and teacher.  She writes letters and wraps up fun little quirky gifts.  I like her a lot.

These yahoos went roller skating the other day…and laser tagging…and bowling…and bumper car riding.  They were all sweaty.  And totally goofy.  My favorite was watching them roller-skate.  Everyone had noodle legs and was terrible.  So so funny.

Another goal for 2015…rid my shoes of stench.  I’ve tried so many things, but thought, what the heck, it’s a new year, I’ll give this another go.  I’m here to accomplish the impossible in 2015.  And then some ladies on Instagram said to dump baking soda in my shoes and stick them in the freezer.  Josh Kelley is fearful our frozen hamburgers will taste like feet, but I’m going to give it a try.  Wish me luck.

This was us Christmas morning.  I feel like it speaks volumes about our hot-mess-ness.  And Solomon’s shooting guns…oh wow, how I love that kid…he’s a committed little funny picture taker.

This.

Josh Kelley Fun Fact:  He’s amazing at watercolor paintings.  He used to paint all the time, but doesn’t much anymore.

While cleaning out a giant watercolor pad of his I found a baby Harper watercolored hand print.  I cut it out and then compared.  Sigh.

And my favorite purchase of 2015 was my journaling Bible.  It’s my jam.

Happy Tuesday night!

Real Quick…

I’m sitting alone in my house and in about 30 minutes 12 new woman will walk through our front door and we’ll spend the evening crafting away…and I kind of am totally stoked.  Still nervous, like last time, but feeling a tad bit more confident.  It’s just really neat to get to craft and meet and talk and hang out with new friends.  Exciting.

How about a few quick random things from our week…I knew you’d be game…

Haircuts for Solomon and Hudson.  I love them with fresh cuts.

Birthday shopping for Harper.

Legos…all day, every day.

Our first Made South package.

Double bird…need I say more?!?!

Baseball for days.

Good drinks with good friends.

And homemade cake…because some people and some days just deserve homemade cake.

Enjoy your weekend.

Happy Friday!

Insta 6

It’s rare a post contains pictures of all 6 of us.  So rare, like an albino polar bear 🙂  But today is your lucky day.

Dr. Seuss Day.  She wanted to be Daisy-Head Mayzie.  So simple.  So easy.  So perfectly Harper.

Lunch in the floor just has to happen sometimes.

We call it the parrot.  He’s been a good little parrot, but he’s starting to get big.

I realized the other day that come August Josh and I will be packing 17 lunches each week.  17.  We use these bento boxes from Amazon and I decided we were going to need more than our current 4.  Maybe I’ll start a Lunch Chronicles Series.

Such an intense drawer and colorer.  I think he’s going to be an illustrator when he grows up…or a gun salesman…or in the military.

Oh this one, he’s going to be a yoga instructor.  Fo shizzle.

Or work at Kinkos…only helping people turn the machines off…like he did with me the other day.  He’s a sneaky, smart one.

Or professional snuggler…which wanted to auto correct to smuggler.  He could maybe be a professional smuggler too.

Or tiny teeth model.

And Sunday ends our 21 Day Fix program.  It has been amazing and we’re going to keep doing it…with a few modifications…I need a few more calories for long runs.  I have learned so much and have made some permanent changes for our family.  It’s really exciting and fun.  And just so you know, this wasn’t your normal “diet”.  I’ve never done a diet, not because I didn’t need it, but because I like food too much.  So when I realized we still got to eat food and good food on this plan, I was in.

Oh and why yes, none of my plates match…at all.

So that’s it.  You can find me on Instagram at pitterpatterart if you want to follow along.  We have a fun weekend planned and I cannot wait.  Happy Friday!  Enjoy it!

InstaBoys

My boys have been filling my Instagram feed lately.  I’m around them pretty much all the time, so it’s so easy to do.  And throw in how hilariously nutso and cute they are and yeah, Kelley boys for days.  You can find me at pitterpatterart.

Amon is still randomly sleeping.  I’m kind of wondering when he’s going to move on or grow out of this.  I’ll be a little sad when he does.  It’s just so funny.

After Mom died my Aunt Linda sent us these giant Mom/Grammy buttons.  Solomon and Hudson actually still wear theres pretty regularly.  Nothing like some Grammy flair to adorn your outfit for the day.

I’m currently working on a 24×36 custom canvas order and Amon was the best co-supply shopper around when preparing for the task.  Josh and I jokingly ask each other pretty often, “You think he’s happy?”

We’re doing better at this whole bathing your kid thing.  And Harper is always keeping us in check which is very helpful.  Sometimes I get a day behind, but we’re getting good at Wednesday/Saturday baths.  I know you guys are always on the look out for bath updates 🙂

The other day I heard a very calm “Ow.” over and over and over again coming from our bathroom.  And this is what I found.  And, voila, we have a new word.  #Amonspeaks

My kids draw all the time.  And I truly love it.  Hudson has been on a knight kick lately.  When I saw this, so many, many things came flooding into my mind.  A) Wow, that guy didn’t have a chance.  B) Look at the gushing blood.  C) I’ve never seen knights shaped like that before.  D)  Do my boys need an anatomy lesson?  and E)  Should we be worried?!?!

And nothing like a Star Wars Captain Rex diaper-only toddler child at 7am.  The force has always been very strong with this one.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and an awesome Friday.  See you Monday!

Photo Dump

I miss Ashley.  I got to see her for like 4 days straight and then she had to leave.  I don’t understand what the big deal is with just moving to Tennessee and snagging a house directly next door…or across the street would work too.  I feel this is not too much to ask…at all.

I’m getting after my running hard this month.  So far, so good.  I just wish it wasn’t so dang dark every morning.  We’re starting a trend with shadow pictures.

A shippish baby gift.  Come on baby Hutton.  Let’s get the show on the road.

Forgot to share the name of the local pumpkin patch we went to…Honey Suckle Hill Farm.  Hit them up.  We had a grand time.

He’s wild and crazy and drives me bonkers some days, but almost always is rockin’ a smile.  It’s quite the parenting conundrum.

Nashville’s Heart Walk is tomorrow morning.  I’m weepy…I don’t know why…yes, I do…I miss my mom and I just so wish she could have met Amon.  She would have been there tomorrow…without question, but excited to celebrate lives…Amon’s life…and help raise funds and awareness.

Oh, hey Josh and Melody…we like you guys.  The Kelley kids are quite smitten.

Another tooth gone.  The Tooth Fairy actually did her dang job in a timely manner this time.  Alarms were set and we received a reminder text.  The Tooth Fairy is a complicated mythical creature.  Who knew.  And yes…her lashes…I know…I wish they were mine…I’d like to lather them up with mascara.

He’s my sleeper.  Forever & Always.  And his hair makes my face sweat.  Sol is just being Sol.

Another photo for Amon’s Sleeping 2014 Calendar.  This started out as a game of peek-a-boo.  He would pull the blanket down and smile and laugh.  Then apparently he hid a little too long.  He kills me.  My fave…his sweet puffy hair.

Money and gift cards burn holes in Huddy’s pockets.  Josh took him to spend a bit of his birthday goodies and he came home with a new…wait for it…gun.  I was totally shocked.  I kid.  I wasn’t.  Guns are his new love language.  Should we be worried?!?!  Awwww, no way.  His heart is gigantic…big enough for guns and Jesus.

And Harper and my niece Lyla did some crafting together this week.  Fall canvases…yes, please.  I just adore creative kids…their little minds and their thought process and watching them put their plan into action.  Love how their pieces turned out.

We’re ending our Fall Break with a bang.  We’ve got the circus and the Heart Walk and The Color Run all lined up for the weekend.  I think it’s going to be grand.  Have a good one.

Happy Friday.

Photo Craze

She’s my jam.  I enjoy her and our conversations.  She’s compassionate and tenderhearted.  She’s deliberate and creative and loves a good book fair.  She made a wish list and everything.  I’m so thankful she’s my girl.

This is how Amon really feels about doctors appointments.  Yep, me too Amon, me too.  Do you sense the anguish…the despair?  It was pretty dramatic.  Why is it socially unacceptable for adults to melt down in the corner?  I feel we would all be in better moods after a release like this one.

Halloween is going to be the bomb this year.  I’m a fan.  Love me some Halloween…and yes, I love Jesus too 🙂  Amon’s costume hasn’t arrived yet, but let me tell you, it’s quite possibly the most appropriate costume for Amon…like ever…like ever, ever.

A very happy, appears to be a flicker-offer.  Totally cracked up at Huddy.  We are completely far too familiar with Target’s bathroom.  It’s quite unfortunate.

Huddy’s birthday is Sunday.  He’s been excited for the last 83 days.  Josh said, “I’m afraid he’s going to be disappointed.  He’s expecting unicorns to wake him up and sing Happy Birthday.”  He’s super excited.  I purchased this for one of his gifts and yep, it’s going to be his best birthday yet.

Work.  Taggie blanket and letter a letter C shirt.  I’m kind of diggin’ the anchor…of course.

Full Count baseball makes for a really good night.  Sol is smitten.  Completely and utterly smitten.  He’d throw ball all day long and he enjoys watching.

I kept seeing all this crazy buzz about honey crisp apples.  Then I saw them in the store and I had to try them.  I was surprised…shocked a bit…they are actually totally delicious.  Very deserving of the name honey crisp.

One day I’ll shop alone again…one day…but until then, we’ll keep rockin’ on with cookies and laughter.  Laughter is a must.  It’s my main survival tool.

He’s still my sleeper.  Random places.  All the time.  I’ve never had to use the baby lounge buggy until yesterday.  I’m totally making a calendar.

Hair cuts.  Kelley boy hair cuts.  I can’t even stand it.

Mountain biking on our date night was a fantastic idea.  Too much fun.  I could become a mountain bike junkie.  I told Josh he did not warn me about helmet hair.  He said, “I didn’t know.”  Oh yeah, he doesn’t have much hair.  Word.

And hey locals, don’t forget about Madison Creek’s Pioneerfest Saturday from 12-4.  Tons of fun, games, prizes and food.  And lots of great auction items.  I have art pieces and key fobs up for grabs at amazing prices and all the money stays in the school.

I told you…photo craze.  Now the boys and I are off to hang with Ashley all day.  I can barely contain my excitement.  She’s my jam too.  Have an awesome weekend.

Happy Friday.

Good Things

THANK YOU!!!!  You guys are crazy kind and I just really don’t know what else to say other than thank you, thank you, thank you!  We are already almost half way to our goal of 5K for the Heart Walk.  $2340 to be exact.  This is simply stellar.  I may have been pretty weepy yesterday as my phone would go off to alert me of another donation.  If you didn’t read what we are up to yesterday then you can READ THE POST HERE.

If you still want to donate in honor of Amon to help aid in heart research CLICK HERE to donate towards our family’s fundraising goal.  I am just so excited about this.  And if you make a donation of $15 or more in honor of Amon, as a thank you, I will mail you a pretty little key fob.  I’ve already got my list going and cannot wait to start cutting up fabric and sewing away.  And don’t forget, after you donate just send me a message HERE and let me know your mailing address.

Huge happy Friday thank yous.  My heart is so full.  You’re incredible.

Okay so other good things have been happening around our house.  I have been working like a mad woman getting so many orders done and accomplished and instagramming it up all along the way.  You can find me at pitterpatterart and follow along.

I adore when my kids want to create right along side me.  Sunday morning Harper and I chilled out and got busy creating.  I love when she does this.  I love her heart and I love her creative side.  They’re both really good ones.

Amon Kelley you are ridiculous.  Ridiculous.  We’ve had some pretty easy happy babies, but he easily takes the cake.  Minus the whole communicating thing 🙂  Crazy, happy, wild, into EVERYTHING, fun, loud as all get out, sweet and dramatic.  We’re all wild about Amon.  And we think he’s kind of wild about us.

We got a chance to eat lunch with Josh this week…not once, but twice.  I know three small Kelley boys who were thrilled.  Huddy, Sol and Amon easily think their dad is the best.  And I am coming to terms with the fact that Amon likes Josh better than me.  It’s rude, but I’m dealing.

My sewing machine recently broke and has been at the repair place for 3 weeks.  THREE LONG WEEKS.  So many things I’ve been wanting to sew.  So many trips to my MIL’s house to say, “Can I use your machine for a minute?”  But I finally got her back this week and she is sewing like a dream now.  Be still my heart.

And last, but certainly not least, Amon decided to take his 4th kidness to a whole new level.  I was working and Sol and Huddy were playing play-doh at the table with me.  I realized the house was far too quiet.  I looked over at the boys and said, “Hey, do yall know where Amon is?”  They’re always my eyes and ears.  Huddy without even looking up from his play-doh said, “He’s asleep under the table.”

I peeked under and sure enough.  Dude was out like a light.  I proceeded to document with picture taking and then felt a little bad for him.  I promise he has a schedule and actually sleeps in his on crib, but he’s also this amazing little adaptable 4th kid who will apparently rock a nap out on our hardwood floors under the kitchen table.  I did scoop him up after lots of pictures and put him in bed.  I like him.

That about wraps it up.  Thanks for reading.  Thanks for stopping by.  Thanks for being kind and nice and generous and thoughtful and encouraging.  This week didn’t start out so grand, but my my my, how it’s turned around.  Hope your weekend is super good.

Happy Friday.

Yo Friday.

Happy Friday.  I’ve been slacking on my Insta Fridays, just too much going on.  You can find me at pitterpatterart on Instagram.  Here’s some randomness from my feed.

We call it his entourage.  When he gets up from nap he usually brings along his blankie, big blanket and his lion.  He loves them.

10 years…donut style.

Cheesecake and crazy good chocolate cake…double anniversary dessert celebrating.  Thank you Maggianos.

I call this Watering the Amon.

Amon ate this receipt as a little pre-lunch snack.  And yes, the receipt was for M&Ms, Sour Patch Kids, Fruit Mentos, gummie bears, Reeses, Funyuns, popcorn, coke…drive-in movies…enough junkfood to kill a small family…remember?  Yep.  Wasn’t kidding.  And I feel the need to say the coke zero was for Josh Kelley.  The stuff grosses me out…I need the real deal coke.

I just like him.  That’s all I really know to say.  I like him a lot.

Running shoes always make my feed.  I just can’t help it.  I like the tradition and the color.

I’ve been rocking on with my no-sweets during the week, but sometimes…yeah, you just have one of those days that deserves a cookie.  Tuesday was one of those days.  Made THIS RECIPE and will make it again…maybe today.  An insane amount of M&Ms combined with a bit of dark chocolate.  It’s a good good thing.

I haven’t pushed a double stroller since I had my little “twin” boys.  This double stroller full was pretty dang cute.

Bird feeder.

He messes with my heart in a really bad way.  It’s real bad.

And 2 out of 4 of my favorite dudes.

It’s another dreary day so we’re lounging around like total sloths today.  I like it.  The wee Kelleys do to.  Kicking the weekend off right.  Have a great one.
