I’m Tired :)

What a day, what a day.  We got to the hospital around 6am…anesthesia took Amon back around 8…surgery started around 9…they thought they were finished around 1:30…then Amon had some bleeding issues and they had to re-open him back up…and finally close to 6 we got to see our incredibly amazing, sweet, sweet, triple sweet boy.

Can I just say that technology is amazing.  I am blown away with how everything is working for Amon…where all these tubes and wires and IVs and ports are going and what all they are doing.  It is absolutely crazy.

This is definitely Amon’s most fun tube.  Who new medical tubes could be so stellar.

Amon will have 5 super rad scars as apart of his story…1 nice sized one from the incision and then 4 smaller ones from tubes coming from his belly.  The ladies are going to love this guy.

Thank you for smothering him in prayer…we felt it.  It was a long, long, hard, emotional, but yet incredible day.  So thankful for this crazy sweet boy and his new heart.  So thankful for a God who ordains and holds and comforts and restores.  Amazing.

Now for some sleep.  And for the quickest recovery ever.  Thank you for praying…truly, truly, truly…thank you for praying.

May God receive all the praise.

My mother’s heart is praising God for His wonderful work today. I am so glad He has given some of His people the awesome talent to fix our bodies. Mother to mother, I am so proud to ‘know’ you and witness your amazing strength, Laura. May God continue to bless you and yours.

  5. I was ok till I saw the big scar ~ My Mother had double by pass surgery when she was 72. She had absolutely not one problem and lived to be 88 when God said He needed her. The Doctor was amazing and prepared me when I went in to see her ~ hooked up to life support ~ she never opened her eyes but told me later she knew I was there when I touched her arm and prayed and thanked God for bringing her through. God is so good Laura ~ HE has carried you this far and certainly isn’t going to let you down ~ You are an A~mazing strong woman. Just continue to Praise Him for giving Amon to you ~ for truly he is a “gift from God” I will continue to pray for fast healing for Amon and continued Divine Wisdom and Strength for you in the days ahead ~ Keep Praising Him! You are loved:-)

  17. So glad to hear that the surgery went well! Kids recover SO much faster than adults and handle everything way better than we do. Best wishes!

  18. Praying for you all! Will you be sharing what kind of heart defect Amon has? I super curious like that because I’m a heart mom, too! My oldest had coarctation of the aorta and my youngest had pulmonary stenosis, HCM, and a bunch of electrical issues that lead to him needing a pacemaker. Have you seen Three Hearts by Samaritan’s Purse? Oh my. It is so, so good. I LOVE the Children’ s Heart Project!

Hope Amon is feeling better quick! My youngest son came home just three days after his first open heart- only on Tylenol. It was AMAZING!

Sending prayers your way! Just happened onto your blog from Pinterest…and I see your sweet children, and your triple sweet little boy after surgery. My now 13 year old son had open heart surgery when he was 7 days old. He had complete transposition of the great arteries. Basically, his heart was plumbed wrong. It was hugely tramatic, of course, and like you, I had children at home also.
So, tho I don’t know how or what exactly you guys have been through, I can empathise, having been there myself. I am praying for a speedy, complete recovery for your little man, and that your beautiful family also comes through just as well!
