Thursday {Late}

Today was a bit nutty.  Busy, busy, busy.

Sol likes to read.  He loves books, magazines and apparently The Guide To Children’s Dental Health pamphlet.  What I love the most about this picture is his hand reaching into the popcorn.  I love him!

Nothing says “I love you” like these.  Josh Kelley may seriously receive one of these for Valentines Day.

I love going to Home Depot.  And particularly because of the spray paint aisle.  It makes me happy.  I also enjoyed buying sheet metal for a little project today…can’t wait to share.

I love that people give me their unwanted items.  My friend Brea gave me this frame…I have plans…big, wonderful plans.

This is my camera.  I used an old camera to take pictures of my current old, sad and broken camera.  I am having a great bit of stress over trying to pick out a new camera. My Uncle Tom is helping me narrow it down.  I have waited until the bitter end…we like to drive things into the ground 🙂

The side panel is missing, there are metal pieces sticking out of the side, the lens doesn’t close when I turn the camera off, it has trouble focusing, the case is splitting on the top and bottom (I could easily pull the camera apart), small screws fall out of it and tonight it started making a weird clicking noise.  I think it’s time.  I’m kind of sad.

I’ve had this little set of notebooks for a while.  I carry them with me everywhere.  I specifically write down things I would like to use on art pieces.  They are oh, so handy.

Today during nap, I went scanning back through the books and found this page.

A little while later this was my creation.  This little 10×10 canvas…I kind of dig it.

Be motivated by love and compassion.

And today ended with a date night.  Wings, Snicker pie and trivia with Josh, Tyler and Alison.  I adore date nights.

Thanks Aunt Susan…you are beyond cool for watching those wee Kelleys as much as you do 🙂

Tomorrow will be here soon and there’s lots more to do again, but so glad the weekend will be here.  Happy Thursday!

  1. Just a few things: 1. Sol makes my heart happy…especially in this pic! LOL 2. I have the very same, well not the excact same, notebooks filling up with quotes that I want to use in my Art for Haiti. (creative minds think alike) 3. WHAT is this Snicker pie and where do I find one? Just the name of it sounds wondermus. 4. I am commenting out of order here (I’m a rule breaker), Hud’s hair is looking more and more like my Rileyman’s…LOVE the blonde curls 5. Your art piece is wonderful and I might have to “borrow” that quote. 5. Have you seen the commercial with all the dogs barking the theme to Star Wars? If not, you MUST at least see if it is on youtube.~Amber

  2. Love this post as ALWAYS!! But I MUST KNOW where you found those Star Wars Valentine boxes of chocolate!! PRETTY PLEASE, WITH SUGAR ON IT AND A CHERRY, PLEASE OH PLEASE TELL ME WHERE TO FIND THEM!! 😀 <3 They were made to be given to my daughter & my husband for Valentines day! And I might just need to get two more to bring to my brother & son when we go visit them in Colorado next week!!

  3. Oh, my goodness! You are just like me! I had my old camera, even after the cover for the flash fell off. Every single time I took a picture, the bulb would pop and it would smell like something was burning. Nope, just my camera, folks. My big, giant, black, broken camera. That still works, haha! And I love those notebooks!

    • I meant to add earlier that I so can relate to running a camera until it’s dead! Lol! My hubby teases me that it’s the Japanese in me that kills cameras because I use them until they literally won’t even turn on anymore….lol! I’m almost there right now. 😀 And I have a pocket size Moleskine journal that lives in my purse for things just like your little notebooks! I too collect quotes to use in my art & my art journal! 😀 If you want, you should come follow me on Twitter…I post quotes at least a few times a day! I’m cmmama10 on there!

  4. Your blog is so uplifting. No matter what kind of a day you’re having, there is always something in each of your blog entries that speaks to my heart. Thanks for being so real and for letting Christ shine through you.

You guys aren’t the only ones that like to use things until they’re totally dead. We’re the same way. No sense in buying something new if the old one works, right? lol

    Hugs!!!

I love the quote “You remember the things that change your life”….I can imagine your artwork for that quote…I hope I remember when you are open again for orders!! YOu are so talented!!
