Taking New Orders August 1st For A New Cause

Our local church is working on getting a team of adults together for a mission trip to Nassau, Bahamas to work in the All Saints AIDS Camp who house children and adults with HIV and AIDS.  I first heard about this Sunday, as we have been in Ethiopia and Josh went last week with the kids while I stayed home with Sol.  When I read this Sunday in the pew, I knew then, that I was suppose to go on this trip and be apart of this team.  I only wish I could give people around me my eyes and let them see and hear all we did while we were in Ethiopia.  It is a county ravished by AIDS and there are approximately 4.7 million orphans in a country less than twice the size of the state of Texas.  I am now even more overwhelmed and cannot ignore this verse, “…once our eyes are opened, we can’t pretend we don’t know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act.”(Proverbs 24:12)  Josh and I are committed to not just sitting back anymore and watching while we know we are suppose to be DOING.  So come January I will be headed out on this trip and have asked several good friends if they want to join me.  If you would like to join us too, please shoot me an email and I would be more than happy to share all the details about the trip with you.  SO…from now until January 2010 all the money I make on orders will go directly to help fund this trip for (hopefully) many people.  Money is hard to come by right now and I would hate for something like that to stand in someone’s way of going..so not only will you get a great, unique item, but your money is going towards a good cause.  Starting August 1st I will be taking new orders.

  1. I just have to say that in addition to the beutiful things you design, the way you are driven to help others is truly inspirational! i wish I had one ounce of the commitment you have.

  2. wow. what a verse. i’m not sure if you know, but it has been pretty much a life long dream of mine to work with aids patients. that’s just where my heart is. i’m thinking about the trip, but with work and all i’m not sure how it would fit together. i’ll find some way to help out those that are going if i can’t – i’ll need to send some hands and feet in my stead. you are one lucky girl!

  3. We are in the process of adopting a boy from Ethiopia and I love your Africa shirts. What are you charging for these?
