Home Dreams

It’s no secret were looking like crazy for a house.  We use to be really narrowed in on one area, but now we’re kind of wide open.  While we’re on the hunt I have been dreaming about what the next place will hold for us…how everything will come together and the thought of starting over with a clean slate is so exciting.  I have been Pinteresting my little heart out…ideas, wants, dreams, DIYs…all fun house related things.

I definitely want to get a new couch soon.  I wish you could see ours.  It’s so flippin’ gross.  When people come over I put a quilt over it.  Now our friends know my secret.

Maybe our next house will have a real or fake fire place or gasp…maybe even closets.  I would die.

We’re thinking bunk beds are going to be in order soon.  Maybe even for Harper too.  The more space the merrier right?!?!

Kids room decorating with fun fabrics and unique touches and bringing in their own little personailites…I am game.  Endless possibilities.

I am digging the brightly painted metals and I have about 10 different 6s to adorn our walls now.  I’m thinking a 6 collage will be in order.

And how cool is this bathroom sink?  This would be crazy cool to have in our next home.  Dreams people, dreams.

So while I’m dreaming and planning and longing for our next place to call home, I’m trying really really hard to remind myself our current home is the place God has us for a reason and His ways are far better than our own.  I don’t think He minds me planning a little though 😉

Happy Thursday!

  1. I did the same thing with our couch, covered with a sheet when we were expecting visitors. Finally got a new one in April with tax money. You aren’t alone!

  2. quilt on the couch here, too!

that sink is amazing!!! swoon, right??

and i’m all over the art supply jars. we will have those in my house. we will.

we’re moving so i’m dreaming with you. i’m also dreaming up money we don’t have. haha!!

  3. Keep dreaming! It will all come in time! And I love the idea of bunk beds for the kiddos! Did you see what Ashley Campbell (ashleyannphotography.com) did to her bed in the loft? Washi tape! She may have changed it since I think that’s been a while back but it was super duper cute! And easy to change! And colorful! All good things in my opinion! 😉 Prayers for the hunt!

We are in a similar boat. We have our next house picked out. Even have a contract pending with it, but can’t seem to sell our current house. The house we want has been on the market 2 years. Ours has been 11 months. I dream of it every day, what I’ll put in each little corner and what color I’ll paint each room. So hard to be patient. I’m feeling your pain!

  5. You would love my local Nashville friends blog: http://www.gatherandbuild.com/
Check it out and pin away or meet up w/ her in real life. 🙂 *I’m a TN transplant and now live near Chicago, but love your blog and art and style.

  6. Our sofa is disgusting too. I have a green throw blanket carefully placed on it to cover the worst parts. I’ve had my eye on that IKEA sofa for a while, but with a 6 year old and 2 year old, a new one will end up disgusting before long too. I’m trying to hold out just a little longer.

I have the top Ikea sofa. It’s held up great for 6 years. The two things I don’t really like about it: 1) the back is really low so if you’re looking at the tv straight ahead, there’s no head/back support or way to slump down and curl up “in” the couch. 2) the dark brown cover has faded in random spots, even though sun has hit the entire couch. It’s really bizarre. Hope that helps you in your search. Have fun!

  8. That sink is so beautiful! And FYI White House is a fabulous place to live! It’s changing and growing every day but still has a wonderful small town feel!
