Glazed Pear

I have really been trying to paint alot lately, due to the fact that I will be participating in a Christmas Bizzare at Long Hollow Church.  I want to make sure I have plenty of stuff that would appeal to all sorts of individuals.  I recently read an article about using a medium called glazing.  It comes in all sorts of thicknesses, but recently I purchased a jar of extra thick glaze.  You can use it in several different ways to make your paintings look different.  I recently painted a pear and used the glazing.  It made the painting look “wet” and very textured.  I really liked how it turned out.  I tried to capture the affect with my camera, but not sure if you will be able to tell or not.  Now I am considering printing a verse around the pear, but can’t make up my mind.  If you have any ideas let me know.

  1. It’s about time you posted again! Maybe something from Galatians 5:22-23?

  2. I don’t think this one needs a scripture. I like the painting!

  3. Laura,
I LOVE this painting! I love the colors and the way it looks! I don’t know where you get your talent but I sure wish you would share with your old auntie. She would like to be able to paint, too.
Love you! (Kiss the peanut for me.)

I’m with Grammy, I like the pear plain. If you do put a verse, I’m with Chris, something about the fruit of the Spirit. Love the Harper pics!!
