Dr. Kevin

I feel it is a rare thing to be very close with your gynecologist, but not with our family.  Dr. Kevin Hamilton is mine and has delivered my daughter Harper, my niece McKinley, my nephew Jack and my little cousin Grant.  He is a great friend of our family’s and takes such great care of us.  I posted a while back about Kevin finding out he had cancer and at my last visit he said he was “out of the woods”.  He just goes back for check-ups to make sure everything is still okay.  I just love Kevin.  I go in Friday for my ultrasound and that visit is always very nerve racking for me.  But it’s great to know, really know the someone who is watching over your unborn child and to know what a godly, sweet man he is.  So I felt like making Kevin a small mixed media piece for all the wonderful work he does.  I really appreciate all he does and the way he has let God use him.  The verse says, “Bless all his skills, O Lord, and be pleased with the work of his hands…” Deuteronomy 33:11.  And if you notice, in the background are Harper’s handprints.  I hope Kevin likes it and I’ll post about our visit on Friday.

  1. This made me cry. That’s so sweet.
It’s also the first time anyone has told me that Kevin is out of the woods as far as his cancer goes. That’s an answer to prayer. Can’t wait to hear about your twins that you’re having.

  2. Laura,

This was a very sweet post. I remember reading about Dr. Kevin and praying from him off of Kim’s blog. I am so glad that all is well with him. You are so thoughtful to do something like that for him, and I am sure it is something he will cherish for years to come. I love that you incorporated Harper’s hands. I love my Gyno, too! She is wonderful and I think you have to have a bond with them. They are bringing your new sweeties into the world.

Good luck with your ultrasound…are you thinking twins???

    Take care!

  5. This made me cry…such a beautiful piece and I, too, didn’t know that he was “out of the woods” A true, answered prayer.

You TOTALLY need to be making these pieces and selling them at the Long Hollow Christmas thing this year. They would sell like hot cakes. They are beautiful.
