December 25th {Christmas Day}

Well Merry Christmas from the Kelleys.

It has definitely been interesting and fun and sad all rolled into one.

Life is surprising like that.

It turns out this was the year of violent toys 🙂

Guns and knives and swords and shields all around…minus Harper.

Harper was thrilled with all her artsy goodness.  Two of her favorites…

Yep, that is a snail tape dispenser and those wonderful, longed for fine tip Sharpie markers.  She was in heaven.

Little brother needs to get home quick because we’re bursting right now.  We need him…like a lot.  And this Christmas was super hard without him.

And it was definitely hard without Mom.  I know it seems every single post contains this grief I’m carrying, but that’s just me right now.  So today I made a to-do list.  Anyone else have a to-do list for Christmas?

So for a big chunk of the day, Josh and the kids were at his parents and I got busy with my to-do list and cried along the way.

And one of those items was our Random Acts of Kindness Advent.  Today was our last day.

We gifted a gas station worker a Christmas surprise.  And she was quite surprised.  I always get this nervous feeling in my stomach right before this all goes down…so fun.

And the rest of the day was just a hodge podge of different things with some tears on the side 🙂

How crazy this has all been, but truly thankful for our Savior…an amazing Savior, who lives and reigns and just spent Christmas with my Mom and holds my son when I cannot.  So crazy.  Thankful for His mercy and crazy, awesome love.

Bring on the New Year.

  1. i love everything about this but i have to point out my favorites.
1-i love how your sweet girl loves sharpies. what a love i have for sharpies. fun stuff.
2-i love how you made “run” on the list, show your tennis shoes (apparently, went running), then show the mcdonald’s drive thru. you totally rock.
3-i love how your mom is spending her first Christmas staring at the face of Jesus. As hard as i am sure it is for you not having her here, just the peace in even trying to fathom what she is looking at right this very minute. what an awesome party she is attending.
    bless your sweet family.

my hopes and prayers is for you and your family in the new year..You have inspired me thru this journel to do a few random acts of kindness this year..on a whim..instead of planned on my part..well it was fun..and what joy it gave me ….I will continue to pray for your heart to heal for your loss of your mom…and pray for that little fellow to come home to you soon. There are so many this year who had a difficult year ..even though mine was not tragic..it was a hard one for our family..Trying to keep “my Jesus in me”as I call it, was tough at times..I mean that by saying when I go off the edge with anger or panick I say “man ! I lost my Jesus in me”..Ill get back eventually” look forward to your blogin the comming year..”Blessings to you and your family, peace, health, prosperity, joy, amazement, giggles, energy, creativity, wisdom, rest follow you all through this new year;;;;;Hugs..Lisa
