We are finally back to the land of the living and I could not be happier. I ended up taking Harper to the doctor on Monday because she was still sick and turns out the kid had the flu and a double ear infection. The doctor said that since the rest of us had all the same symptoms that more than likely we all had the flu as well. It is only by the grace of God that Josh still has not come down with it. God knew we needed some sanity and that there had to be someone to take care of the rest of us. The last week and a half were quite crazy and honestly I would prefer not to even to talk about them anymore…it was that bad. Like I said, Josh deserves some sort of medal.
I was finally feeling up to making our 5 Months Waiting Art Giveaway as well. The piece is on a 10×10 canvas and I used the verse Matthew 16:9 “Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand and how many basketfuls you gathered?” I have actually had this verse picked out for some time in case we made it to 5 months. I love this story and I think Jesus speaks so clearly in this verse.
It is such a strong reminder that my faith should be all wrapped up in God because He surely has a wonderful plan for me. He is all I need and provides everything. And I don’t even deserve all the love and grace and all the amazing plans He has prepared and still He chose to give those things to me just because He loves me. And on that crazy, beautiful Friday He made the ultimate sacrifice to prove to the world that indeed He loved us and just how much. What an incredible gift we can not fully grasp the magnitude of.

Easter is the reminder of how very deep the Father’s love is for us and we should celebrate this every day!
Easter is about Jesus dying and taking away my sins. I showed our kids what God did for us by taking a white carnation and adding food coloring to the water. The white carnation symbolizes how pure Jesus is and the red signifies our sins that he took upon himself. The petals are just starting to turn red. What a great visual for my children to learn what Jesus did for us. Blessings to your family in this waiting.

Easter is the reason we are able to live with not being a perfect Christians. We are allowed to be sinners and have a way to salvation because of the cross. Jesus knows our tempations and felt each and every one on the cross. He also felt every hardship, every dissapointment, and every heartbreak that we will face. He died ultimately for us and our sins, so that we may have eternal life with him in Heavan. We are so not worthy of his Grace, but he loves us and wants us to be Christ like leading others to learn how much he truly loves us! 🙂 He is risen! He is risen!

Easter is my absolutely favorite day. It means my sins are forever washed away and that Jesus makes all things new. A time to reflect on the biggest sacrifice ever made, be reminded of God’s faithfulness to fulfill all His promises, and be refreshed and renewed by His saving grace. Easter is all about Jesus for us! We try to get the Resurrection story across to our girls however we can (they are 2 and 4)- we use Resurrection eggs, read various children’s Bibles and discuss the pictures, etc. We’re looking forward to celebrating at church on Sunday and eating with friends!

Easter means LIFE to me. Abundant life, eternal life, and new life. This year especially with such a harsh winter, I have realized we had to have a winter to GET to enjoy spring, and we had to have a crucifixion to GET to have eternal life through the resurrection. ( In our own adoption efforts, I totally just blogged about the 2 fish and 5 loaves!!!! Miraculous things happening in our adoption journey.) I would LOVE to have this peace as a reminder of that.

Easter reminds me of how much has been sacrificed for me and encourages me to live a life of less whining and more sacrifice. What an incredible display of a love of a Savior who CHOSE sacrifice as His demonstration of love (for all of us less-than-worthy children) and the love of a parent who chose to love.

Easter means everything. Christmas gets all the glory (and I love it too!), but without Easter, the birth wouldn’t matter. Easter is why we’re here, why I’m able to set up an Easter basket for my son tonight, and while we’re hunting eggs with family tomorrow, why I will smile with not just happiness, but true JOY.
Easter is being reminded that God saved me!! It is a reminder that it is all about Him and making His name known as I draw closer to Him!!!
As a Christian, Easter is everything to me. Jesus was perfect and yet he payed the price for my sins by dying on a cross. I did not deserve it, but he did it anyway. So incredibly humbling.

To me, Easter marks my own spiritual “Gotcha Day.” On Easter, 20 years ago, God revealed to me MY need for a savior and I trusted Him as my Lord. He claimed me on Easter Day as His child, just like you will soon lay an earthly claim to your next baby!
