Christopher…

is my brother and most definitely the best brother ever, hands down. Again, I’m not one for real personal posts, but had to post this. Chris is leaving tomorrow for Haiti with a team of guys to go and work and just be God’s hands and feet. I wanted to ask you all to pray for him and his team and all the work they will be doing, their safety, that God’s will be done and that Chris doesn’t see any spiders (ha). They will be returning Tuesday and although that is not a huge gap of time, I know Kim, my sister-in-law, and their little ones, McKinley and Jack, will be missing him like CRAZY so say a little prayer for them too. I am praying all these things, but mostly that the people they come in contact feel loved and see God’s love…that God would show Himself in an amazing way, what other way would He show Himself. Thank you guys so much and Chris, I love you big brother — hope you don’t see any spiders.

Long Order Post

Orders have been CRAzy lately, but that is a great, great, great thing.  We are on our way and couldn’t be more grateful. God has been so good to us. So on to some recent orders.

This cute little weenie dog shirt headed to Texas this week. Amy ordered this for her little girl’s 2nd birthday party and can you guess the theme? Oh yes, a weenie dog party. It just doesn’t get much better than that. Hope your little girl loves her shirt Amy and thanks for your business.

This next piece may be one of my all time favorites. This is a 24×48 Names of Jesus piece. Because of the large size I to had increase the size of each square and find some new names. This piece contains 45 names. Thanks Cari for your business and hope this looks perfect in your green room.

Next is a Taggie blanket that I made for my new little nephew, Van, who is due any day now. I wanted it to be really cool and I wanted to include his initials as well. I really liked how it turned out and am taking orders for these now. Just let me know if your little one needs one as well. By the way, I can’t wait to meet baby Van. He is already well loved.

Lastly, I must tell you a little pre-story to this item. Our church has a thing called “Service To-Go Projects”. These are simple little things you can do to serve others in our community. It can be things like buying a single mother a gift card, buying some school supplies for a local school, making a baked good for someone, etc. Just little projects you can do on your own time–no due date. Anyways, last week I decided to pick one up on our way out and as Harper and I approached the desk where they were I asked God to give me the project He wanted me to have. When we got to the desk I told the lady that we wanted a “Service To-Go Project”. She asked what kind I would like. I told her to just give me any of them. So she reached into the file folders, took my name and gave me my card. As Harper and I walked away from the desk I read my card. This is what it said “For Baby at Crisis Pregnancy Center. Sew a hooded baby bath towel.” Boy was I excited. And of coarse I could not wait to get started, nor could I just do a plain ole’ towel. Everything needs a little spunk. I think it turned out so well and am already thinking up some for Harper and I know my little nephew Jack needs some new hooded towels too. God knew what card I needed and nailed it. These will be for sell now too. Just shoot me an email or leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Hope everyone is having a rockin’ good weekend.

Here are some new shirts that are available for purchase and order.  You can get them in kids and adult (men’s and women’s) sizes. I also will be putting several on my “Items Available Now” page. Thanks so much.

New Projects

I told you new projects were on their way and here they are: I wanted to make Harper and Hud each something for their Easter basket this year. Here is what I ended up making: a cloth cube for Hud and a quirky stuffed chicken for Harper. I loved how they turned out and ended up making them for my other little nieces and nephews as well. The cloth cubes I added initials to, ribbons/taggies, a giant button and a bell inside to make some noise. I also added initials to the chickens. If you would like to place an order just shoot me an email or leave a comment. Happy Easter.

Brothers

I recently finished this order for Cari to place in her 2 sons’ bathroom they share.  This was quite a process, but think it turned out great.  Cari wanted antique colors in paper on the background, then the letters spelling out “Brothers” on each canvas and then the verse Philippians 4:8 over the top of each letter.  The canvases measure a little over 7 ft going across and the tallest canvas is 2 ft–so this is a pretty big piece–that’s definitely my excuse for the terrible picture.  Anyways I especially love all the different canvas sizes, really making this one unique piece of art.  Hope you like it Cari and thanks for the business.

This next order was placed by Dale in Georgia for her new little nephew Tanner who is due any day.  This is a 16×20 name piece in navy, baby blue, yellow and green.  Dale also wanted some birthday plates, two being for her 2 nephews who are brothers Kaden and Tanner.  Thanks Dale for you order and congrats on being an aunt again.

I also have several new sewing projects to post, but have to finish up a few more things before posting them.  I must admit I am rather excited about them and can’t wait to share.  We are getting very very excited about meeting our new little guy.  Keep us in your prayers.

Harper is 2…Dinomite!

I usually don’t do real personal posts, but Harper just turned 2 and I had to do a post about her birthday. First of all she is a HUGE fan of dinosaurs. She knows 5 different types of dinosaurs and can pick them out of a set and tell you what kind they are. She is quite obsessed, so it only made sense to have a dinosaur party. I made her invitations and made all her little cousins dinosaur shirts for their party favor, along with some initial beanbags for each cousin and some other treats. The girls all got purple dino tees and the boys either got orange or brown depending on their age.

Josh and I decided on three traditions we wanted to do each year for our kid’s birthdays.  We successfully kept all three traditions alive again this year.

1. Decorate their door for their birthday

    2. Chalk on the sidewalk to celebrate

      3. Cake for breakfast on their birthday

Harper had her party on Saturday and she had the BEST time. Everyone was too good to her and she got lots of very thoughtful gifts, but her favorite part was the cake. Her face while everyone sang to her was priceless and she even gave us all a round of applause afterwards. She had a great birthday. I cannot believe 2 years have gone by. How much fun we have had. We love you Harper.

Not to leave Hud out…he is such a great little man and oh so busy. He’s not quite crawling, but inchworms and rolls anywhere he needs to get to. He has 2 teeth, eating all types of yummy stuff, is sitting up and likes to pull his bumper down to peek out at you. So, so cute.

Must I say it, if it’s written all over our faces, we are so blessed and love these kiddos!
