Running Out of Titles

First of all I am running out of titles for posts that are just to show new work I’ve completed, so if you have any ideas – let me know.

I wanted to post this recent painting I did. The parents wanted their new little boy’s name, birthdate and time he was born and then a sweet verse they chose for him. I thought it was a great idea for welcoming him into the world.

My cousin Rebecca also commissioned me to make pirate pouches for my little cousin Grant’s birthday party. All the little boys at his party are going to be going on a treasure hunt and needed something to hold all their loot. Too cute! So we brainstormed and came up with these cute little loot bags. I made little fabric tags to go on the back as well. I also made my little cousin Matthew one because he is really into pirates too. His has a cool parrot patch on the back that is made from pirate fabirc and felt. He is in kindergarten and I still love receiving mail, so I know he will be super excited to get a pirate bag in the mail.

Oh and don’t forget, I am making cookies today with Presly, one of my kidergarteners from last year. And my little niece McKinley is coming to spend some time with Harper and me on Friday, so we are going to make cookies with her too. The is just a cookie madness week. Anyways I will be posting about all our cookies and their cute little cans I made for them to carry the cookies home in. Look out for that post coming Friday.

Bits of Valentines

I have a few new pieces I have completed lately. The first being for a special little girl, Mary Elizabeth. She was adopted by some friends of our family, Jonathan and Brea Freeman. You can check out their story at www.breagirl.blogspot.com. I was completely moved by there open arms and enormous love and wanted to make something special for Mary Elizabeth (they call her M.E.) So I made her a giant M. I really love the paper and I think the colors fit her nicely.

Valentines are something I have been working on vigorously as well.  I have made Harper valentines to send out to family and close friends.  We had the best time making them, as you can probably tell.  I also have been working hard on several things for Josh.  I can’t post those yet because I think he does look at my blog at least sometimes.

I also made a giant Valentine for one of my best friends Abby.  She really likes cool and quirky stuff so I know she will like this.  I don’t think she checks my blog much (she’s really busy) so I think I am safe.

I’m very excited also about next week.  One of my students from last year, Presly, is coming over to see me Tuesday.  We are going to make Valentine cookies and she is going to bring a fork and spoon to jazz up with some beads.  I also made her something really cool to take her cookies home in, so keep an eye out for that post.  Have a great weekend.
