Online Bible Journaling Class Reminder

Today and tomorrow are the last days to register for this Wednesday, April 20th online Bible journaling class.  I am so crazy excited and can’t wait to share what kind of good we will be doing together.  This class is like the in-person class I teach…minus us all sitting around tables together.  I will go over a little about me and my background, my process I use every day when reading my Bible, all the supplies I love and why and tips, tricks and techniques.

In honor of our already maniac Monday, I’m reposting Friday’s post about the class.  Check it out and let me know if you want to get signed up.

Well today’s the day.  I cannot say how excited I am to open this up and work with you guys to bring so much good into the world together and also learn and love God’s word together.

Today I am starting registration for the blog based online Bible journaling class.  Each two week class is limited so once it’s full it’s full.  I will be doing this class every two weeks.  I ended up deciding to do it this way, instead of opening it up to the everyone at once, because I want to be able to answer questions and have dialogue through our discussion comment page.  This obviously heavily relies on whoever is taking the class and if they want to have discussions as well.  You might just want to watch all the videos and check out…that totally works too.

The class is $50 and you will have access to all the videos and discussion page for 2 weeks.  This means you can move through the content at your own pace over the course of our time together.  Once the two weeks is up we will begin a new class.  I will be checking in daily and sharing about where I am currently in reading the Bible and hope you will too.

The videos will talk about the process of Bible journaling and I will share how I go about this each day.  We will also talk about supplies and tips, tricks and techniques I use.  You can see all the supplies I personally love and use everydayHERE.

The first class will start April 20th and run through May 4th.  If you would like to sign up just CLICK HERE or email me at pitterpatterart at gmail dot com and I will be in touch with all the additional information you will need.

I cannot wait to see what God has in store.

Giving Them My Best

Camp Create challenged me in so many ways…from realizing how God has equipped me, to how important listening to the Holy Spirit is and speaking that into others lives, to how much I talk down to myself.  So many many things to process and think through and start acting on.  One of those being not saving my best just for others.

Here’s what I do.  I know the importance of love, grace, mercy, compassion, kindness, patience, generosity, respect, etc.  I know, know them true and I try my very best to give and show all these things to others around me, but then put me in the midst of my sweet family and often times I forget all those important things.  The love, grace, mercy, compassion, kindness, patience, generosity and respect fly right out the door and more times than I like to admit, my family gets me at my worst.

I know it goes back to the “they’re my family and they’ll love me no matter what”.  Kind of like how my kids act way better for others and then lose their little minds at home.  Plus we are with each other the most, but I have been challenged about making a conscious effort to not only give my best to others, but also those closest to me.  They deserve it.

God calls us to love Him and love others…others is an all inclusive word meaning every last precious person on this earth who were all created in His image.  He doesn’t discriminate or leave anyone out.  Everyone means just that, EVERYONE.

I’m working and I’m working hard.  I’m trying to remember this all the time now.  I’m holding myself accountable.  I’m trying to let go of all those tiny things which mean nothing in the grand scheme of things…like getting totally pissed off at legos on the floor for the 1 millionth time and yelling like a wild women possessed by an out of control beast…which accomplishes nothing.  I’m trying to keep my voice low.  Asking nicely.  Talking to my favorite people in all the land like I want to be talked to…with love and respect.

I know it’s only been a grand total of 3 days, but I’m committed.  I want to press on and make this a real legit habit.  I want to chill out some.  I want to train my kids to be relentless warriors for Jesus and to be crazy kind and loving and they will see all this by the way Josh Kelley and I act, speak and treat them.  We are their prime example and I realize we haven’t been giving them or each other our best.

I know I will fail.  I know I will fall flat on my face with mistake after mistake after mistake.  It’s inevitable because I’m a big sinner every day, but I deeply and truly want to make this change and I’ve felt the Holy Spirit prompting my heart to work on this hard.  So when the mistakes come, I’ll apologize and make it right and reset.  Everyone deserves my best and this absolutely includes the 6 other people I wake up to and go to bed with day in and day out.

As soon as these words left Jeanne Oliver’s mouth, I grabbed my phone and typed them down…

“When you love the Lord, your home is holy ground.”

I have not been treating this space and my people in this manner and I’m committed to changing this.  I cannot wait to watch God work and move in all of us.

Happy Wednesday!

It Feels Like A While

Hi!  I feel like it’s been a month since I pecked at this keyboard and yet, it’s been a mere 7 days.  When I left for Camp Create last Tuesday I was seriously swept right up into this amazing timeframe with all these women who are life givers and laughers and truth tellers and my heart raced and my pits got sweaty lounging in their intense and beautiful love.  I have 1047 thoughts on our time together.  My head is in a constant swirl of thoughts and feelings right now.  I’m working on gathering them all together, but man, if you get a chance to go to Camp Create, just do it.  Buy that ticket and hop that plane…or drive your sweet body across those state lines and right into a whole gaggle of women whose arms are wide open.  It’s good you guys, real good.

In the mean time…while my head works out all those 1047 thoughts and feelings…I’ve got two things I totally meant to share last week.

1)  I’ve got a Noonday Collection party on the books.

When:  Thursday, May 19th

What Time:  5:30

Where:  Our place

Be there or be square.  My best friend Ashley will be in town and she is so graciously going to party hard with us.  I am insanely excited about seeing some of the new line in person…and Ashley’s sweet face.  Cannot wait.  If you can’t wait to attend the party or want to snag some goods in time for Mother’s Day, you can go ahead and place your order HERE now…and our show still gets the cred.  This is one of my favorite purchases with a purpose…hands down!  Noonday is my jam and they’ve got some killer Mother’s Day deals going on right now.  Let’s empower together and put our resources to use.

And 2)  I only share about things I truly dig and can honestly get behind and recently I might have jumped on board the “I’m not an oiler, but I do dig a natural cleaner to which actually cleans, disinfects and my kids can use.”  Let me repeat the most important line “…and my kids can use.” Cleaning will surely be the death of me, so when my cousin Rebecca told me about Thieves household cleaner and how her kids clean bathrooms and baseboards and anything else…to which this means she doesn’t clean the bathrooms and baseboards and anything else…and her kids learn responsibility…COUNT ME IN!!!  So she ordered me bottle, I made up a couple of spray bottles and all is right in our world.

I love that this bottle will last forever because you just mix a capful with water.  And it works.  It smells good.  It cleans.  It’s easy to use.  It’s safe…especially with goofy boys who are not always so responsible.  And we even use it to clean the stove top and anything else.  Nothing is safe from the Thieves cleaner now.

Rebecca is crazy kind so if you want to take advantage of her discount (she’s an oil peddler 🙂 she’s offering it up to you guys.  Just email her at therosses at comcast dot net and she’ll hook you up.

Okay.  I am recouping today via reentering life and trying to get a handle back on life after Camp Create.  The struggle is real.

Happy Monday!

Sweet Views

Amon playing play-doh for forever!!!!!  All this kid needs is some play-doh and one of my cooling racks and he’s in business.  And yes, I let him play play-doh on the floor…oh vey!

These three and jelly beans.  Give us all the sour jelly bellies of the world.

Running views at 7am.  6 miles is so much more fun with friends.

Amon eating lunch solo just like a straight up old man in his rocking chair.

Flowers in pickle jars.  I am full on committed to my pickle jar flowers and Kroger keeps making it happen for me.  Who doesn’t love $5 bouquets.

Reading books with littlest at the library.  She’s a creature of habit so as long as I keep reading she’ll keep picking a new book and climbing into my lap.

Waking up to find zero clean socks besides my one pair of wool winter socks.  I could feel the pools of sweat in between my toes while running.  Alissa had to hear all about it while we trucked up a hill.  I did laundry soon after.

A whole slew of new Timbali cosmetic bags ready for Bible journaling classes.  All you local Bible journalers and Timbali lovers…let me know if you want to pick one up.  $12 each.

(I use this pouch for my Bible journaling supplies.  You can you see my complete supply list HERE)

Taco Bell.  Two different days.  Two different sets of my favorite people.  Each time chosen by Kelley kids.  I tried convincing the bigs to do lunch at Panera.  They’ve never eaten there before so I was explaining what it was to which Solomon piped up and said, “How about Taco Bell?”  Hudson and Harper immediately cheered in agreement.  Hey, train up a child in the way they should go 🙂

And airport views because I’m headed to Camp Create and I could not be more excited and nervous simultaneously.  Friends.  Color.  Creativity.  Learning and listening.  Bible journaling.  Antiquing/Junking.  Kansas views.  And crazy good food.  This is going to be a good week.

Happy Tuesday!

Gratitude

Just wanted to stop in and write a big thank you about Harper’s little art sale last Friday.  All of the canvases sold…again!!!  You guys, seriously, I wish you could have seen her sweet smile when she hopped in the car Friday afternoon and I told her they all sold.  It was the best.  She just couldn’t believe it.

My favorite part though might have been listening to her chatter on as she was addressing packages yesterday afternoon about the different states our pieces are headed to.  She was just amazed and truly I could not be more grateful for your kind and thoughtful generosity.  And even more than that, the encouraging words expressed to Harper and the prayers for our trip.  You not only made my girl beam, but me as well.

We are only about 8 weeks away from hitting the airways, we talk about our excitement a lot, we got her passport updated Friday and bought her some long skirts/dresses this weekend to wear at the carepoint.  She is crazy excited and well on her way to reaching her goal.  I asked if she wanted to do more paintings, but she said she wanted to try baking cookies next 🙂

(her new passport photo and her old passport photo…ahhhhhh!!!!)

You’re a good bunch and I deeply appreciate you.  You are kind and nice and you make this space so sweet.  I am still shocked when people stop by and read and even comment…blogs are pretty much on the extinct list now, but I just adore each of you and this space.  I can’t quit you 🙂  Please know how sincerely thankful I am…and Harper!

Happy Monday!

Harper’s Art Sale #2 (Swaziland Fund)

Well here we go again.  Round #2 because you guys were all crazy kind and so many people asked for more art.  Seriously, I cannot get over the kindness.  We are blown away.  Harper is the cutest…she loves to paint, she loves to create and it’s pretty much blowing her mind people are digging our art.  She has a little tally sheet taped to her wall where she’s keeping up with every penny that comes in.  Again, the cutest.

If you’ve never met Harper, well, she’s a kind and creative 9-year-old who wants to go to Africa.  We told her she had to help in the responsibility of raising her funds and the girl devised a plan and then set to work.  She’s quirky, fun and colorful.  She’s totally my jam!

As always, thank you for just stopping by.  You taking time out of your life just to view our sweet little collaborations is awesome.  It is not wasted on me at all you even stop by this tiny space on the inter webs.  So please know how grateful we are…purchase or no purchase…for you stopping by today.
