Lack Of Title

I consistently run out of titles for posts because I know my posts are a pretty random mix of craft related stuff and my kids.  I need some help.  Does anyone want to volunteer to title all my posts?  I could pay you in craftiness.

I am currently working on 2 large art pieces that are taking up a good chunk of my time, so I have only completed one order over the past few days…sad.  This sweet little yellow and green baby set was ordered by Jenna in Johnson City, Tn.  I love how it turned out and hope the new momma does too.  Thanks so much Jenna.

The majority of my time lately has been so tied up in gift making also.  June is a heavy family celebratory month for us.  Josh’s mom and dad both have birthdays in June, my mom’s birthday is in June as well, then there is Father’s day x 3, along with our wedding anniversary.  Needless to say our gift budget is maxed out in June, so I have been making lots and lots of gifts.

While gathering supplies I have picked up several new fabrics.  These have now been added to my fabric inventory.

The heat is crazy, crazy hot.  My air isn’t the best so windows down seem to be working for us.  Good thing my kids like it.  That is until a cicada flew in the window and completely freaked Huddy to the core…it did land on his arm.  I was so mad that I didn’t get a picture of the expression on his face.

This moment is so incredibly rare…like albino polar bear rare…I am assuming that is pretty rare, but you polar bear experts out there might know otherwise.  And I did stop the car and remove the headrests to get this picture.

Do you see the drool that is happening here?

Harper and I had a little Target date night this week.  It is so rare for the kids to be alone with Josh or myself, so we have really been trying to be deliberate about taking them out by themselves.  Harper had her first personal icee experience.  She has tried a sip of mine in the past, but this one was all hers.  She was beyond excited.  Why she chose blue raspberry when there was white cherry, I will never know.  Maybe she isn’t my daughter afterall 🙂

And I did have a mom epiphany this week.  I usually run in the morning before Josh goes to work and one morning I got up at about 5:50 and went ahead and headed over to a local park to run.  We had so many things that needed to get done that day including grocery shopping.  Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind shopping with my kids in tow, but lets be honest, I am so much faster without them.  Mid run it dawned on me, “If I cut my run short I can go grocery shopping ALONE.”  It was as if God shown His light down on me in that moment and angels sang an angelic chorus.  Why had I never thought of this before…I don’t know.  I high-tailed it through my current route, straight to my car and then onto Kroger.  Funny thing about grocery shopping without my kids in Kroger at 6:30am…there is no one there, I only needed a regular ole’ normal person cart -no crazy huge kiddo cart with added kid car that has a turn radius of zero- and I was like lightning.  This running grocery shopping epiphany may have changed my life.  And I have never been happy to find Harper playing with my camera, until I walked in the door that morning.

Here’s to more mom epiphanies and a great Wednesday!

Long {Start of Summer Post}

It seems summer has officially arrived here in Tennessee.  It has been blazing hot, water play is needed everyday and all day and the cicadas are in full swing.  I have been working like crazy during naps to get orders completed.  This first order was a doozy, but so much fun.  Melissa in South Carolina needed 8 tees, a tooth pillow and some sweet fabric bracelets.  I was thrilled to make all of these goodies up for her.  Thanks so much Melissa and hope everyone loves their gifts.

This key fob set headed out to April in Texas.  Thanks so much April, as always it was a pleasure.

Bonnie in Kentucky ordered this 10×10 “His eye in on the sparrow” canvas.  She even mailed in her own pull out from one of her Bibles.  I do love this piece and am thrilled that so many of you do too.  Thanks so much Bonnie.

And lastly, these two camera straps are headed to Jackie in Louisiana and Meghan in Mississippi.  Thanks so much ladies.

I have tons of orders placed so please be patient with me.  I am working just as quickly as I can, but am having lots and lots of fun with my 3 small Kelleys as well.  Summer has started off smashingly fun for all sorts of reasons.

I am rockin’ lots of solo dance parties and the other day I looked over and this is what I saw…not cool Josh, just not cool.

Water has taken on an everyday role now.  I mean it is smokin’, smokin’ hot and we are spending all day, everyday outside in some sort of water.

Check out the cicada on Harper’s leg as she doused Huddy.  Girl could have cared less…she had bigger fish to fry.

She then totally gave me a lecture on why I shouldn’t get a bit antsy and maybe scream sometimes when a cicada attacks.  I couldn’t quit staring at her face while she really hammered home her point.  I mean, how OH how, could I take her seriously?

I may have worn a really super tacky 90s prom dress to the movie theater with some of my SILs and friends to watch “Bridesmaids”.  Check out those tan lines.  Ladies, don’t be hatin’.

And yes, Jen and myself tend to get the couples combo.

There is some serious sewer work being done on our road this week, particularly right in our front yard.  My kids have stared and stared and stared some more.

Harper has started a new job…she is officially giving out manis and pedis to anyone who will sit for them.  Sol is her #1 customer.

I received some amazing new fabrics in the mail from Erica.  She brought them all the way from Uganda and I couldn’t be more excited about them.  Thanks again Erica.

My dad has been helping us fix some things around the house…thanks Dad!  I thought Huddy and Sol were going to poop their pants when he let them help use his electric saw.  I’m pretty sure the boys are going to open a hardware store together one day…H&S Hardware…I would buy spray paint from them.

The boys have a special way with the sprinkler.

Who knew these 2 old buckets my dad gave us would be such a vital part of our summer.

Huddy is on some new meds that won’t let him be in the sun for long periods of time.  This is not going over very well.  Shade time = Ticked Off Time.

But nothing makes my kids happier right now then just being drenched.

And I am happy to report that the ‘hawk is back.  He rocks it so crazy’ well.  Bring on the summer time.

Happy Weekend and Summer Break!
