I hate to be late. If anything I am always early. I feel like if I say I will be somewhere or do something by a certain time or date, then I should stick with my word. I said we were going to draw the winner for the Gatlinburg weekend tonight at 9 sharp, but sometimes life happens and some things have to take back seat. My oldest boy, Huddy, is a very allergic/sick kid sometimes and today proved once again to me, that sometimes life just happens. Huddy woke up this morning and was having issues breathing. I gave him a breathing treatment and thought that everything was fine. Then 2:30 this afternoon rolled around and I was proven wrong. He started wheezing really bad, was having a super hard time breathing, puked trying to catch his breath (which Sol then stepped all in) and when I looked at his stomach he was taking really hard quick breaths, so much I could see his rib cage with each breath. He has been in respiratory distress before and this was exactly what I was seeing again. I called the doctor’s office immediately and they said I needed to bring him in NOW! So off we went. They met me at the door and immediately took him back and started giving him steroids and back to back breathing treatments…2 hours later and his breathing was still not where it should have been, so they sent us off to the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital emergency room. We had done this before, but it’s never what you want to do.
You would have never known he was sick or struggling to breath by his actions and his disposition. He loved on and chatted with every doctor and nurse. He could not have been better. We have been home for about an hour or so now and Huddy is fine and breathing great and ASLEEP. More steroids and an almost 2 hour straight breathing treatment of the “good stuff” and they released us. Needless to say we are tired, but just glad he is breathing the way he should be. So that is why 9 o’clock sharp for drawing a winner just didn’t happen. Like I said I hate to be late, but sometimes you just can’t help it.
So how about the winner now. Thank you to everybody that donated and helped us spread the word. We did awesome and so thankful for every penny that is in our adoption fund now because of your generosity.
HUGE thanks to Butch and Becky Duke of Uncle Buds Log Cabin Rentals for making such an amazingly generous donation yet again. And to my lovely assistant Josh, who just wanted to go to bed, but stuck it out with me.
And the winner is…
Congratulations Tubby Cat. I will send you an email and get you all the information needed to get you started on your Gatlinburg weekend.
And I thought I would throw in a recent art order that I just finished up last night. These three pieces were ordered by Angela in Mississippi. Angela wanted me to use three different verses and I was so excited to make these. Angela was just a pleasure to work with. Thanks again so much Angela.
