Archives for August 2010

Happy Monday!

Thanks to everyone who has donated money for the Gatlinburg weekend…you guys are just the best and we soooo appreciate it. If you haven’t seen our first attempt at fundraising yet, CLICK HERE or scroll down to the post below. Up for grabs is a weekend cabin in Gatlinburg, Tn…thanks to Butch and Becky Duke of Uncle Bud’s Log Cabin Rentals. This fundraiser will end this coming Friday, so get in on it while you can 🙂  Please email me at pitterpatterart@gmail.com if you have any questions.

And for another really great way to help a family bring home their sweet child…Check out the Kneeshaw’s blog. Stacey and Kurt Kneeshaw go to church with us and they are just the sweetest.  They have two older children, Micah and Hannah, also from Ethiopia and are now working on bringing home their sweet baby boy Jonah.  When they were in Ethiopia last, they brought home some really great Ethiopian beads and are making those into bracelets and selling them to help finish off their funds.  Please check out their site HERE and buy a bracelet. So excited for you the Kneeshaws.

And for some new orders…it was a total key fob weekend.  These key fobs are headed to Belinda in Kentucky and Shelia in Texas.  It seems teachers are becoming more and more the recipients of these key fobs…I love it!  Thanks so much ladies.

And these key fobs are were ordered by Dusti in Texas, Nina in Illinois and Angela in North Carolina.  Love the pink ribbon one…so meaningful.  Thanks so much ladies and hope everyone loves them.

This last set of key fobs is headed to Cara in Georgia.  Cara needed several key fobs and let me choose almost all of the fabrics.  She does have one friend who loves peace signs, so the sweet brown birdie and peace sign fabric was a must.  Thank you so much Cara…I sooo appreciate it.

And you know football season is right around the corner in Tennessee, when you get an order like this.

I also picked up two new fabrics recently…I am in love with the first one, super soho.  These are now added to the fabric link at the top of the page.

Thanks to everyone that has been making donations or placing orders.  Everything is being dropped directly into our adoption account and we really cannot say thank you enough.  Also I will have our super, awesome thank you gifts up this week…can you hear the excitement in my typing…sooo excited about these.  And tees will be on their way soon.  Thanks again so much and please continue to help us spread the word.  Blog, Facebook and Twitter are such great ways!  Thanks again and Happy Monday!

FundRaising Time

We are moving through the paper chase of  our second adoption much quicker than we did the first time around.  Depending on when we get the dreaded I-171H it is completely feasible for us to have a shot at being on the waiting list before courts re-open…can you see me crossing my fingers?

So we are officially starting off fund raising with a weekend getaway.  Butch and Becky Duke of Uncle Bud’s Log Cabin Rentals have donated a weekend stay at any of their cabins in Gatlinburg, Tn.

If you win, I will send you the gift certificate with all details and you set up your stay with Butch and Becky.  They will mail you your key and all the info to go along with it before you head off on your trip.  Josh and I have actually stayed in one of their cabins before and it was so much fun.  One of the things I totally loved was that they had GooGoos waiting for us on the beds…too cute and I totally love GooGoos.  They have several cabins to choose from with all the details about each cabin and virtual tours, so check out their website here and see what all they have to offer.

You can arrange your stay anytime within the next 6 months, so pick a time between now and the end of February and get ready for a good time (excludes holidays).  So how do you enter.  Super easy.  Each ticket is $10 or 3 tickets for $25. You can mail a check or cash…just shoot me an email and I can send you our address.  We will draw the winner next Friday, September 3rd.  Please feel free to help us spread the word.  This makes me super excited and a HUGE thank you to Butch and Becky Duke for their amazing generosity, yet again.  We cannot say thank you enough.  Good luck!

And how about some orders to go along with a great new fundraiser.  This first 8×10 “Adoption” canvas is headed to Shannon in North Carolina.  They just got home with their sweet girl and Shannon had ordered a birthday tee…she then decided to add this piece to her order.  Thank you so much Shannon!

This next set of key fobs is headed to Erin in Minnesota.  She wanted some key fobs for herself and some teacher friends…they are the fire team.  Love the quote, as a previous fellow teacher.  Thanks so much Erin.  Hope everyone loves them.

These sweet initial Mickey tees are headed to Michelle in Indiana.  Michelle is quickly becoming one of my best customers…she just keeps on coming back 🙂  She needed some sweet Mickey tees for her boys and one of their cousins to sport at Disney.  Love all the color combinations.  Thanks so much Michelle.

This tee was ordered by Rebecca in White House, Tn.  Her daughter Ansley is about to have a Willy Wonka birthday party and she wanted a purple tee with a funky chocolate bar and letter a.  I cannot say enough how much I love this polka dot fabric…so hip, so cool, so funky!  Thanks again so much Rebecca and hope Ansley’s party is a blast.

And lastly is a piece that was ordered by no one.  It is pretty rare when I get to just make something…anything I would like.  Today I took some time out from orders and made this 10×10 canvas piece up for our new little boy.  It is not up for sale just yet, but I needed to get it done and you will soon see why…smile and a wink!  Super excited about what’s in store for this piece and love my sweet boy already.

So there you have it.  What a way to start a Friday.  Have a great weekend 😉

Kickin’ Out Some New Orders

Let’s kick this post off with some cuteness.  Here are my kiddos gearing up for the first kickball game of the season.  Yes, Josh and I are on an adult kickball team…laughing yet…it really is fun though.  Our first game was last night.  We lost in extra innings.  I was a little bummed, but my kids were rocking their team shirts “Kickin’ It Old School” and looking way too cute to stay mad 🙂

And for some new orders.  This first order was placed by my mom.  She needed a sweet little baby gift for a friend and I was excited to make it up for her.  My mom always just lets me do my thing…which is so much fun.  Thanks Mom!

This order was placed by Shannon in North Carolina.  Shannon needed an Africa tee for herself and some sweet little onesies for little girl in Ethiopia.  Thanks Shannon and hope your bringing your baby girl home soon.

This order is headed to Laura in White House, Tn.  I actually taught Laura’s little girl Presly in kindergarten.  Presly was just the best and I still miss her.  Laura needed a baby boy letter C set.  I love how this set turned out.  And Presly wanted a bow holder for herself.  She was very specific 🙂 pink background, white polka dot, orange letter P and orange ribbon.  You got it Pres!  Thanks so much Laura and cannot wait to see you and Presly.

And lastly this piece is for my good friend Alissa who’s sweet baby girl Scarlett is due in October.  This is my new favorite name piece (canvas size 15×30)…love it and hope Scarlett will sport this in her room for years to come.  Love you Alissa!

And don’t forget to check back Friday for our first fundraising raffle.  Happy Wednesday!

Tons Of New Orders and Raffle Friday

I have been hard at work getting orders made up and shipped as soon as possible.  I think I have done a pretty good job so far.  Our adoption account is growing and that makes our hearts happy.  We will be having our first fund raising raffle on Friday for a weekend getaway…I will post all the details on Friday.  Super, super excited.

Orders continue to roll in and THANK YOU!  I really cannot begin to say those two words enough and I really mean it.  Thank you!  Here are some orders that headed out today and yesterday.

Tons of key fobs being ordered.  These are headed to Nikki in Indiana and Sara in Kentucky.  Thanks ladies so much.

All of these are headed to Amanda in Texas, Allie in Georgia, Michelle in Indiana and Abby in Wisconsin.  Thank you ladies and hope everyone enjoys their fobs.

Abby in Wisconsin also wanted an Africa tee to match her key fob.  Thanks Abby and hope you sport your tee proudly.

These next three key fobs were ordered by Nina in Illinois.  Thanks so much Nina…it was a pleasure.

And this “Grateful” key fob is for Angie in Iowa who entered to win a custom key fob on my Facebook page last Friday.  Congrats Angie and hope you love your key fob.  And the other key fob is for a charity donation.  LOVE both of these fabric choices and colors.

These next Africa tees are headed to Dianna in Missouri.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the black and white damask on black…great choice Dianna and thanks again so much.  Hope your process is quick and smooth.

These sweet birthday tees are headed to Vonda in Nolensville, TN.  Vonda orders something for her girls every birthday and it is always so much fun to create tees for them.  This year she wanted their names on the front and their ages on the back.  Love these tees.  Thanks so much Vonda.

And lastly these tees were ordered by Kristy in Hendersonville, Tn.  Kristy is one of the directors for our childrens program at church and she does an amazing job.  Kristy needed to matching cupcake tees for her daughter and one of her friends.  Madeline and her friend will be sporting these to the American Girl in Atlanta for her birthday.  Love the bird print.  Thanks so much Kristy….you’re the best!

On my last post, I wished my nephew Cooper and my niece Meiya a happy birthday and posted a picture of some funny sweet tator tots I made for Cooper’s Napoleon Dynamite cake.  I got more emails and comments about those tator tots, which I thought was hilarious and so great.  I feel bad though, because the cake was nothing special, so I feel I am going to disappoint people with just how simple the cake was.  I love to make cool birthday cake for my kiddos and nieces and nephews, but Napoleon Dynamite was a little challenging, so when I talked to Coop about it he loves when Napoleon says, “Give me some of your tots.”  So that is where the cake idea came from.  Coop loved it and really that was all that mattered.  I even had forgotten that I had to write something on the cake and had no colored icing, seeing how Coop wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate icing, so I had to scrounge through my baking supplies and luckily found some cookie gel pens…they did the trick and Coop really didn’t care that the writing wasn’t my best.  So for all those moms out there that emailed me or left comments about wanting to see the cake…check it out.

I told you it was nothing impressive, but like I said, Coop loved it and that made me a happy Aunt.

Check back on Friday for our first fund raising raffle and remember all order money from my site goes directly into our adoption fund.  And it is never too early to order for Christmas 🙂

**UPDATE:  So I totally forgot to tell you how to make these funny little tots and they are super easy.  Just dip large marshmallows in candy peanut butter melts (you can buy these at Joanns, Hobby Lobby, etc…about $2 a bag you you will not even use a whole bag) and then immediately roll them around in crushed graham crackers and there you have it.  I just crushed up a bunch of graham crackers in a plastic baggie and would drop my freshly peanut butter coated marshmallow in and give it a good shake.***

Saturday Ramblings & Tator Tot Marshmallows

Orders just keep coming in and I am just loving it.  Please be patient with me though because I am working as quickly as I can.  We are hard at work on getting our dossier put together and gathering those last few little papers for our home study and Huddy’s 2nd birthday is just around the corner.  So needless to say we are one busy family.  Our first raffle will start this coming Friday and a weekend getaway will be up for grabs.  Pretty excited.  And here are some new orders.

This first order was placed by Michelle in Indiana.  She wanted a Guatemala tee for herself, one for each of her boys and a 3/4″ “Be The Change” bracelet.  I was happy to get this made up for her.  Love all the color combos, but especially the blue and orange.  Thanks so much Michelle.

This set of key fobs is headed to Erin in Texas.  Thanks so much Erin for you business it is greatly appreciated.

This Guatemala bag is headed to Anabel in Florida.  Love the fabric she chose.  Thanks so much Anabel and hope you love your bag!

This sweet little cupcake tee was ordered by Shannon in North Carolina.  They just got home with their new daughter from Ethiopia and will be celebrating her birthday soon.  Shannon wanted a special tee for her to wear for her party and I was delighted to make it for her.  Thanks so much Shannon and hope Emma’s birthday is just the best.

This little taggie blanket is headed to Dana in New Mexico.  Dana needed a sweet letter A taggie for a friend of her’s new little man who just arrived.  Again, love the blue and orange.  Dana is my go to lady for all my business designs…check her out at Lifelines Designs for invitations, moving/birth/adoption announcements, thank you cards and do I even dare say in August, Christmas cards.  She is the best to work with, great prices and her designs are awesome.  Thanks so much for your continued business Dana and awesome designs.

This just may be my new favorite Africa tee.  This is a donated item that will be headed out this week.  Really love the fabric.

And last, but certainly not least, this sweet little puppy tee is for my niece Meiya who turns 2 tomorrow.

Meiya and my oldest nephew Cooper share their birthdays and we are going to rock an Elmo and Napoleon Dynamite joint birthday party tomorrow.  Coop is turning 10 (this makes me feel very old) and I am making him a “Give me some of your tots” birthday cake.  If you have seen Napoleon Dynamite the you will love his cake.  Check out these marshmallow tator tots that will be adoring the top of his cake…totally gross and yet oh so hilarious!

Happy Birthday Coop and Meiya…love you both a ton!

Thank You!

Thank you guys for all the sweet comments and kind emails I have received about our next adoption.  Also THANK YOU for your business.  I have been hard at work and still have an order list that needs some major work.  I am so excited about all the orders coming in and going out.  You guys are too good.  We are moving right along through paper work…home study papers are totally completed except reference letters.  Dossier is almost complete as well, just need to wait for a few more papers and then I will be hauling all the kiddos to some county offices and the TN state capital.  Our goal of end of September is definitely within reach…YEAH!!!

Okay so here is what has been working on this week.  This 24×24 canvas was ordered by Sarah in Texas.  She loved the smaller adoption pieces I made, but was wanting something on a larger scale.  I was so excited about this piece.  Thanks so much Sarah for your business.  Hope you love this for years to come.

And my boys just had to get in on the photo action.

This 18×18 canvas was ordered by Amy in North Carolina.  She wanted a different verse, but with a larger Africa in the background and a ladybug over Uganda.  Again, I was super excited about this piece as well.  Thanks SO much Amy.

My friend Melody in Hendersonville, TN ordered this 3/4″ bracelet.  Thanks so much Melody for your business and for the sweet extra donation to bring our boy home…Melody over paid 🙂

This Guatemala tee is headed to Shawna in Indiana.  She wanted a tee to show some love.  Thank you Shawna and hope you love your shirt.

These key fobs are headed to Codi in Texas and Sara in Kentucky.  Codi also wanted an Africa tee.  She even let me pick the fabric…what a brave woman 🙂  I have been dying to use the fabric I chose and this is officially my new favorite Africa tee.  Thank you so much ladies.

And this next set of key fobs are going to Jolanthe in Virginia.  She wanted some sweet little text key fobs.  Thanks so much Jolanthe and hope everyone loves their fobs.

Happy Giveaway Monday!

We’re Going To Need A Minivan + Giveaway

Such exciting times around the Kelley house and we are excited to finally let everyone know that we are going to need a bigger car, should I even say, maybe a minivan…

We are officially adopting from Ethiopia again. We faxed our application and mailed out our first major papers last week and have jumped right into the adoption process again. Our goal is to be on the waiting list by the time courts re-open at the end of September…a little lofty, I know, but I think we can totally do it. So we are super excited and CANNOT wait to meet our next son. So please keep us in your prayers. We are going to start fundraising and as with last time around, all the money from orders will go straight into our adoption account. You will be getting a unique, quality product and helping us bring our little boy home, so keep those orders coming in.

Donations are awesome and always greatly appreciated, but we are not afraid to work to bring our boy home. We will be selling tees this time around and think they are going to be pretty cool…WINK WINK!  And we are going to have an awesome thank you gift for people that make a donation to our adoption fund. Still waiting for some items to show up in my mailbox…so check back to see our “Thank you” gift. It’s going to be good.  You can even help by just recommending my site or even suggesting to Facebook friends that they become a fan of Pitter Patter Art.

We CANNOT wait to meet our new little boy!  “Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you.”  1 Thessalonians 3:11

I only have a few new items to show…I am right in the middle of two new art pieces and have mainly been working on those.  Cannot wait to showcase them.  But this sweet 3/4″ bracelet in headed to Becky in Hendersonville, Tn.  Becky wanted a bracelet to show some love for Haiti.  Thanks so much Becky and hope you love it.

And these sweet little elephant tees are headed to a giveaway and a charity fundraiser.  I really think my little ones might need some elephant tees to sport 🙂

I also have some new fabrics available and they have been added to the fabric link at the top of the page.
