1st Birthday Tee

This order was placed by Kristi in Texas for her sweet little girl Mary Beth.  Kristi wanted a special little 1st birthday tee for Ms. Mary Beth to sport on her special day.  Thanks Kristi for your order and hope the party is perfect.

Don’t forget last day to order is February 28th.  I will open back up for more orders, once I have thing under control…you should see my sewing room, AKA closet that is a total disaster.  🙂

Picture Perfect

I finished up this order today and just wanted to go ahead and post it.  This order was placed by Jessica in Nashsville.  Jessica is a photographer and works with another photographer who is about to have a baby girl.  Jessica thought a camera shirt would be the perfect gift.  I made a camera shirt a while back for baby August and just needed to make it a little more girly.  I really love how it turned out.  Thank so much Jessica for your order.

Deadline For Orders Feb. 28

Well first….THANK YOU!!!   Thank you for keeping me insanely, wonderfully busy, but I am about to drown and Harper’s 3rd birthday is fast approaching and OH THE PLANS I have swirling around in my head.  So if you were wanting an order soon, you need to place it by February 28th.  If you are already on my order list…you’re good, but if you haven’t given me the green light on putting you down, you will need to let me know by the 28th.  I will be taking NO NEW orders until further notice after the 28th.  But again thanks to everyone who is keeping me one busy working momma.  And here are some recent orders.  This first set of birthday tees were ordered by Heidi in Virginia.  She wanted three birthday tees for some special little kiddos to sport at their parties.  Thanks Heidi and hope all the kids love them.

The next Africa tee was ordered by Dianna in Missouri.  Thanks Dianna for your order and hope everything goes smoothly for your family.

And this last baby set was ordered by Ellen for one of her friend’s new son Eli.  Ellen sure does keep me busy, but I am oh so thankful.  Hope Eli’s mom loves his new goodies.  Thanks Ellen.

Weekend Vacation and Orders

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be away from email this weekend, for a much needed, by myself, weekend getaway.  If you email me, I will be in contact on Monday.  And of course, here are some new orders.

This first order was placed by Ryan in Kentucky.  He ordered a South Korea shirt for his wife and little girl for Valentines…totally sweet.  Thanks Ryan and hope they loved them.

This set of tees is headed to Canada for Tracey.  Their family is in the process to adopt from Ethiopia so she ordered tees for herself and her two girls.  Thanks so much Tracey.  Hope your process goes smoothly and speeds up!

This next order was placed by Melinda in Illinois, but is actually headed to Texas.  Melinda ordered these for a friend of hers, who will be headed to Ethiopia soon to meet her child.  So exciting and what a sweet gift.  Thanks so much Melinda.

This next order was placed by one of my mom’s co-workers, Alisha.  She wanted a personal baby gift for sweet little Naomi who is on her way…cute shirt and burp cloth set.  Thanks Alisha!

This last order I have been itching to do for some time.  Tracy in Georgia contacted me about doing a China shirt for herself and her new daughter, Mia, who she will be meeting in about a week.  She also needed a birthday tee for Mia, since her 2nd birthday is just around the corner.  Thanks so much Tracy and I hope your trip is awesome.

Lots Of New Orders

I have been crazy busy, which is always really great, but with Sol’s party I have not had a chance to post some new orders.  So this first order was placed by Elizabeth in Oklahoma.  She is a student at the university and will be headed to Swaziland soon.  She wanted a shirt to show some love.  Hope your trip is nothing short of amazing Elizabeth and again thank you for your business.

This next order was placed by Ashley in Memphis.  Ashley and I actually went to college together and I have done a few other things for her before.  She wanted a shirt for her little nephew, who loves superheros, that will soon be a big brother.  I really liked how this turned out and it really worked out well because I soon had three more shirts that needed to be superhero themed as well.  Thanks so much Ashley…as always it was a pleasure.

And do you remember Amos Ivey and the Ivey Family from Texas?  When Story Ivey came home, I made a special shirt for her and I wanted to do the same for Amos.  But Amos has two other brothers and they are just about the cutest brothers ever, so I wanted to send them all a shirt they could sport together.  And it seems these boys are just super hero kind of boys who sport capes and dress up outfits everyday…so it seems.  So what better than superhero themed shirts with their first name initial.  Again congrats to the Ivey family and hope the Ivey brothers love their tees.

This next baby set was ordered by my friend Jessica for a good friend of her’s new little baby girl.  Thanks Jess!

I have a few more orders to post, but I am going to wait until Valentines…just in case.  Hope everyone has a great rest of the week.  OH and I received a Kroger gift card in the mail today, but it doesn’t say who it is from and I can’t even track the return address on it.  So if it was you, THANK YOU!!!  You totally made my day and our month for groceries.  God is just too good and always provides.

Happy 1st Birthday Sol

I have lots of orders to post, but for today it is all about my baby boy.  Sol turned 1 this week and we had his big birthday bash today.  With his birthday falling so close to Super Bowl and since he loves balls, we decided to do a football themed party.  It was a really fun day and all the kids seemed to have a blast.  As always we had to continue with our birthday family traditions:

Decorated door for birthday morning

Cake for breakfast on his birthday

and chalk drawing on party day.

Sol was so cute with his cake.  He has not had any major sweet things yet and I was waiting for his birthday cake to really introduce him to this yummy taste.  I went with Funfetti cake for his.  Throughout our adoption process we celebrated small victories on our way to Sol with Funfetti cake–home study and dossier complete =ed Funfetti cake–On waiting list =ed Funfetti cake–Referral and seeing Sol’s sweet face =ed Funfetti cake and when we brought him home really =ed Funfetti cake.  He was a fan!  He dove right in with his hands and just nibbled away.

Everyone else enjoyed Funfetti and chocolate cupcakes.  These were really fun to make and the kiddos really like the little flags.

For treat bags, of course we went all football: mini Gatorade, eye black, mini football, Little Debbie zebra cake (referees), penalty flag (bouncy ball wrapped in the middle of a yellow napkin…totally Josh’s idea), sweat band and a football shirt.  Since tomorrow is the Super Bowl, I decided to make the boys and the girls football tees.  I just made the girl’s shirts a little more girly.

It was a really great party and fun to celebrate Sol’s life.

On the same subject, but different note, I try not to go too personal on this blog and we have purposely kept Sol’s back story pretty private (only family and close friends) because it’s just that, it’s Sol’s story–not mine, not Josh’s, not anyone’s, but Sol’s and we want it to be his and for him to share.  In all honesty, his birthday was very bitter-sweet.  On his actual birthday we went to eat with family and the whole day I had been fighting lots of sad thoughts.  As we ate the sad thoughts continued and I found myself hating all the conversations that were going on around me.  It made me mad that there was no talk of the proceedings leading up to his birth or how long people waited in the waiting room for him.  I just hate that we don’t know what all took place on his birth date and honestly it just makes me sad.  I know that this is just the way it is, but more than anything, I really, really hate that one day he might be sad about the same things and I won’t have an answer for him.  That pains me and all I can do is pray that God will ease his heart and be the answer he needs.  Comments I get that address Sol being lucky or blessed or any along those lines, make me very uncomfortable.  Adoption is viewed as a great, noble thing and a lot of times adoptive parents are on a slippery slope at making the adoption about themselves and becoming very prideful about it…because yes, it does feel good to hear people say what a great thing they think you have done, but it’s not about the adoptive parents and it never should be.  It is about that child and the plan God orchestrated for their life.  And yes we are apart of Sol’s life, but we are just a piece of this huge life Sol is going to have.  And simply put, Josh and I are the blessed ones and the lucky ones to have Sol…never Sol to have us.  We feel honored that God would choose us to be Sol’s mom and dad and I never, ever want him to think it any other way.  So all that to say, Solomon, we are truly, truly, insanely blessed to be your mom and dad and we CANNOT wait to see what God has in store for your life.  You are amazing and we know you are going to do great things.  Happy Birthday baby boy, we love you tons.
