A Pumpkin For Hudson

I must say I am really enjoying being back at home and getting all the things done I wanted to before Hudson arrives.  I have finished his birth announcements (minus the picture), Halloween cards (minus the picture), birthday shopping and cards for Josh, my brother Chris, my little cousin Garrett and my little niece Lyla, Hudson’s art piece for his room, Harper’s fall shirt, a fall shirt for Lyla and now tonight I finished Hudson’s fall shirt.  I have been sticking with a pumpkin for these fall shirts, just so the kids can wear them longer.  This way once Halloween has come and gone, they can still sport them through November for Thanksgiving.  So check out Hudson’s shirt.  I love the fat little pumpkin and short stubby stem.  I can’t wait to see how cute he is going to be in this.

Hudson’s Art

Hudson’s room is finally starting to come together and today I finally finished the piece for over his crib.  I wanted to do a mixed media piece that included his name and a verse and it took me some time to figure out exactly how I wanted it to look.  I finally decided I wanted his name to be very subtle and the verse to stand out.  This piece also took quite a bit of time, but I really love how it turned out.   I used tons of layered paper, a stitched border, Hudson’s name in the background antiqued and then the verse written over the top of all of this.  I used paper, charcoal, oil pastels, ink, acrylic paint and thread.   I went with a 12×48 canvas size, which is perfect for over his crib.  I used the verse, “But you man of God…pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.” 1 Timothy 6:11  I can’t wait for him to arrive and one day to know that his momma made this just for him.

And here is Harper asleep in her big girl bed.  I went in to check on her before bed the other night and just thought she looked way too cute to not risk taking a picture of her.  I think my camera took a great picture for it being pitch black.  Anyways, she loves her new big girl bed.

It’s Good To Be Back

Well we are FINALLY back in our home and all settled.  We actually spent our first night here Thursday, but it took several days to get the furniture back in place and all settled back in.  I’m a little on the OCD side when it comes to getting everything back into place and would rather spend two nights staying up until 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning, then having a messy, crazy house for a week.  So I’m a little lacking in sleep and very tired of being pregnant.  But Hudson will be here soon, so onto projects that I would like to finish before he arrives.  Today I finished up Harper a fall/Halloween shirt.  I love how it turned out and think she will be very cute in chocolate brown.  Let me know if your little one needs one for the fall season fast approaching.  And again, it’s good to be back.

Still Not Home

So we are still not back in our little home, but HOPEFULLY we will be sleeping in our house Thursday night.  Yes, we are approaching the 3 week mark, but maybe this time it is really coming to an end.  I think Josh and I are a little on the depressed side, but finding out today that the end was actually in sight, lifted our spirits a little.  Again it’s not mom, she has been great, it’s just we love our home and well, it’s OUR home.  I have a list of about a million projects I am ready to start and I can’t wait to get going, especially before Hudson makes his grand entrance.  By the way, Harper came 9 days early and my doctor says it’s likely Hudson will come even earlier, so that’s exciting and nerve racking all at the same time.  YEA!!  Oh and I recently won a very cool handmade statue.  Check it out here.  I must say, I never win anything, so I was thrilled when I got the email that I had won.  Now I have to decide what to do with it.  Maybe Harper’s room, maybe a bookshelf, I just don’t know.  I’ll post a picture when I decide.  So I suppose for now that is about it.  Wow, two posts in a row and no creative artsy pictures to go with either one of them, what has my world come to?
