Inchworm Shirt

This shirt was ordered by Vonda for her little girl Cate. Vonda contacted me about making a shirt for Cate’s 3rd birthday that would match her invitations to her “Buggy Party”. Melissa Toms over at Patty Cake Press creates GREAT digital art from photos to invitations to birth announcements and so on. She was the creator of Cate’s birthday invitations. You can check them out here. I got Melissa’s permission and set to work to create a shirt that would go perfectly with Cate’s bug themed birthday. I think it turned out great and I really hope Vonda loves it and more importantly, that little Cate loves it. Thanks again so much Vonda for your business.

Harper’s Gift For Hudson

I recently posted about a fabric patch I made for Hudson’s baby bag using sandpaper, crayons and fabric.  I wanted to use the same process, but let Harper do the drawing to make a onesie for Hudson from Harper.  I drew a brown picture frame and let Harper do the rest, as you may be able to tell.  I personally think she is an art prodigy (ha) and was very pleased with how it turned out.  I think this is the perfect gift for Hudson from his big sister.  I can’t wait to put him in it, infact I think I’ve decided this is what he will wear home from the hospital.  Yea!!  Good job Harper.  Mom is proud.

Hudson’s Bag

I must share my most recent creation for my little boy who’s on his way. I feel sort of bad because when Harper was on her way I made her all kinds of things….all her bedding (which if you are interested will be for sale soon) two paintings and a giant H. Poor little Hudson has nothing from mom so far, but after today I can say I at least put a special effort in for his baby bag. I recently found this great navy and white striped bag for only $9.99 at Target and thought it would be perfect for Hudson’s bag, but it was just a little too plain for my taste. So of course I needed to jazz it up a little. I also recently read a tutorial on a really great art project involving sandpaper, fabric and crayons…I had to try it out. So today I set to work and this is what I got. I ended up using my sewing machine to add a little extra something to the already special fabric crayon patch just for Hudson. I am excited to try this on a few other items and I think Harper is going to use her creative crayon juices to make a special little brother shirt just for Hudson from his big sister. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Birdie Baby Set

This matching baby set was ordered by Ashley for a good friend of hers who is having a little girl in October.  Ashley just asked me to make something girly and that was it.  I love when I get to have free rein.  So much fun.  Anyways, I love how this sweet little bird turned out and I hope the new mom-to-be will love it even more.  Thanks Ashley for your business.

Africa Adoption Order

These three shirts were ordered by two sisters, Teri Ann and Tera.  They have three little ones between the two of them and they decided these little cousins needed Africa tees.  Thanks ladies for you orders and I know your kiddos are going to be too cute wearing these.

I’m Back!!!

Our house is kind of getting back together, but soon will be in shambles again, but for now I have full access to MY room. The first order I wanted to post was ordered by my sister-in-law Kim for a friend of hers. Kim just told me the baby was going to be a boy and then let me do the rest. I really like how this sweet, fat little whale turned out. I’m pretty sure Hudson is going to need one of these guys. By the way only 10 weeks to go until we meet little Hudson or as Harper would like to say Hunnan.

I’m Still Here

Hello all Pitter Patter folks.  Just wanted you all to know that I AM in fact still alive.  The Kelley family has been a bit crazy lately with vacation and renovations of our home in preparation for little Hudson.  My craft/sewing/painting room has been out of commission due to all the construction, but were finishing up and I have several new projects on their way.  I will be posting them as soon as they are done.  So all those worrying people out there, take a few breaths and know that I am okay.  Look for new pieces coming soon.  Laura

Big Order – The Rest

I finished up the rest of Ellen’s order today.  The plates take much longer than you would think.  Lots and lots of layers of paint, drying time and cooking time.  So here are the pictures of Abby’s giraffe shirt and her cupcake plate.  And yes those are some little toes in the cupcake plate picture.  I couldn’t keep Harper away.  But aren’t they cute?!?
