Valentines Edition

Josh Kelley and I rocked a Valentines date night last night.  It got all super romantic.  We did things like went to the gym…6 sweaty miles.  Then it got way hot when we attended a baseball meeting.  You guys are all red faced aren’t you.  And then we hit up the restaurant made for love birds…Panera.  Don’t be haters now…I’m sure your Valentines day will be just as romantic and steamy as ours.  But actually, I loved it.  That’s us.  Just doing our thing.

The boys wanted boxed Valentines this year and I was okay with that.  I’ve come a long way in my OCD, crafty, need to control everything kind self.  Star Wars and Skylanders.  Boys will be boys.

Harper, now she was a different story.  She wanted no part of the boxed Valentines.  None.  Girl just wanted some fun pencils and her art supplies.  She made each individual card to match each special friend.

For teacher’s gifts you can never go wrong with Target gift cards and Noonday Collection.  Ever.

I went with a different twist on your typical Valentines and am giving away some pillow love.  I think I should deem it a pillowgram or something way catchier than that.

The kids were greeted with their usual Valentines love from me and Josh…a book & jelly beans…every year…it’s tradition.

And lastly, it’s Congenital Heart Defect awareness week.  Our friends our hosting their annual blood drive and bake sale to help raise money for CHD research.  For all you locals, tomorrow at Hendersonville Church of Christ from 9am-2pm, go donate blood and buy some baked goods.  All the proceeds from the bake sale will go directly to the research being done at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.  Big love people…big love.

It’s no secret I love a good bake sale, so I totally signed up to bring some goodies.  I went with milk & white chocolate spoons.  I pinned this idea forever ago on Pinterest and just recalled it the other day.  So crazy easy.  Melted chocolates + every topping imaginable = delicious fun.  I used just about every different sprinkle I owned, candy pearls, M&Ms, white chocolate chips, crushed Heath Bar, tiny hot chocolate marshmallows…pretty much anything goes and the only thing I purchased were the spoons and the tiny marshmallows…had everything else on hand.

So much love going on.  So much fun and creativity.  I love it.  And now I’m off to make some goodies for Friends Day.  Here’s to spreading some kindness and love today!

Happy Friday.
