Thoughts On A Tuesday

These dudes are pretty cool.  I pretty much completely dig them.

My boys constantly perplex me.  I would give a lot to find out what’s going on in their brains most days.

They have been very interested in Amon’s jumpin’ johnny thing.  They mostly just wear it like a backpack because I have off-limited giant pushes or them trying to get in the swing themselves.

I clearly understood that Amon was having open heart surgery, but then the mail arrived today with a 3-ring-binder from Vandy with a gazillion pieces of information and with that my anxiety shot through the roof and I quickly realized my kid is REALLY having open heart surgery.  Wowzers.

Luckily, this very stressful mail was coupled with a wonderfully, beautiful package from sweet Sara in Australia.  It was full of so much happy goodness.  She sent Harper handmade, by her, letter blocks with Grammy on them.  They are just the sweetest little things ever to come from a kiln.  She should open a store shouldn’t she?  I think so too.

Harper adores them and has already arranged them in her room.  And extra sweetness about these little blocks…they each have a little hole in the top where Harper can put flowers or candles or anything her little heart thinks of.  LOVE.

She also sent lots of other goodies and this giant ace of hearts…just for our little Ace of Hearts.  Sara…you seriously made my day…my week!  Thank you so very, very much…for everything.

He is such a mighty good Ace of Hearts too.  Truly he is.  Still pinching myself that I get to be his mom.  Crazy blessed.

I hope Sol and Huddy are always like this.  I pray for their brotherhood, their kinship and their best friendness all the time.  I hope they eat breakfast together every morning at Cracker Barrel when they are 80-years-old.

I have been a collector of a very few things in life.  The short list being stickers, colored paper clips, 101 Dalmatian gear and Berenstain Bear books.  Glad I held onto at least one of those collections.

I really like that the majority of the wipes and diapers in our house have this rad little blue Full Count sticker on them.  Thrilled and privileged to be apart of such an amazing ministry.

And she is so beyond smitten.  I’ve never seen anything quite like it.  And he saves his biggest smiles just for her.

So how was your Tuesday?  Hope it was as good and random as mine.

Happy Tuesday!

I have to share that while in the car and listening to WXRT, I felt as if I was listening to your playlist. First song was the Lumineers Ho Hey, and then Mumford and Sons new song I Will Wait! Thought of how all your anticipation for Amon has come. Prayed you up during both!

Praying for you and your family. Praying for the upcoming surgery, the doctors and nurses. Also praying that as you pick up that binder that God would fill your heart with peace and that you’ll be able to take in the information one page at a time. One day at a time. Praying for the strength and grace that you need for each day, plus loads of extra blessings!

My Lily had her heart procedures at Vanderbilt. We are 2 1/2 hrs. away and have decided it is the ONLY place we will have heart procedures (open heart in future). They are amazing with little ones. Dr. Dana Janssen (male), her pediatric cardiologist got down beside the bed before surgery and lifted our Lily up in precious prayer. He is not only a rock solid doctor but a faithful believer too. He does not do open heart but is a precious man to be on the pediatric heart team at Vandy. Hoping & praying all goes well with little Amon.

I don’t know about you little boys but if I found the set up in that 2nd pic at my house it would definitely be a trap. My son loves to make traps, but he’s nice too so he’ll give you (smack you in the stomach) a belly badge that makes you immune to his traps so he only gets the bad guys with them. He and his sister have been known to make hundreds of chalk traps on the driveway and pass out chalky bellybadges to anyone who wanders by.
    Boys are precious!
