Welcome 2015

So it’s 2015 and it seems pretty crazy another year is already here.  I kind of love the New Year…a restart, a clean slate.  I like the newness of it all.  Josh Kelley and I rang in the new year on our couch bouncing between Carson Dailey and Seacrest/McCarthy quality television while watching the best MLB outfielder spike throw videos on his phone.  There are some pretty good ones out there.

Christmas and late nights really have worn us all down a bit.  Can you take a vacation after the holidays???  Finding Hudson asleep like this at Josh’s parent’s house accurately describes all of our tired posture.

Our house has suffered as well…similar to a tornado with all the holiday love.  I keep seeing all these posts and pins about all natural cleaning supplies.  Ummmm, kudos to all you rad people who make your own cleaning supplies.  Me, well, the lack of cleanliness in our house is pretty harsh so when I clean give me all those harsh chemicals that will strip the paint off the walls and the funk off our floors.  Comet…good.  Bleach…good.  Soft scrub…good.  It’s so funny because I associate all these cleaning supplies with my mother and unless they start giving us cancer I’ll probably use them for the rest of my life.  #oldhabitsdiehard

So the kids and I got after our house today.  Cleaning, laundry, trash collecting, organizing, throwing junk out.  You would not believe the amount of paper Harper tossed from her desk…insane.  I even vacuumed too.  Can I get a round of applause?!?!?!  And does anyone else vacuum others surfaces when they have their vacuum out…like the top of your stove or table top or the front of their kids shirts?!?!?!  Just me?!?!

Amon is of zero help while were all cleaning.  I mean, he did manage to bust his nose on a bench and then bleed all over a couch pillow and leave a trail of drippy blood while running through the house screaming for me.  This time though, I was all like, “Where’s my hydrogen peroxide?  Blood, you’ve got no chance.  Stain be gone.”

We also played a few games of checkers today and watched a movie while Amon napped.  I made my infamous square banana bread because I have severe trust issues with bread pans.  Hudson also made a one-man-band with recycling items.  My favorite quote of the day:

Hudson Kelley: Are chip hats real?  If they are I’m going to fill mine with salsa.

*drops mic*

And now I’m sitting here thinking about my goals for 2015.  Do you do goals or resolutions or nothing at all????  Do you have them all planned out already???  I’m still thinking through some.  I’ve got a couple already set like I want go back to Africa, get a bigger dresser for the boys room so I can move Amon’s clothes out of a basket that’s in our closet, get the drywall in our bedroom fixed and sketch everyday.  I have a wide range of goals from obscure to for realz 🙂

So what are your goals?  I’d love to hear them if you feel like sharing.

Here’s to a grand 2015 and an awesome Friday.

Happy Weekend.
