Racing

It’s raining today.  Everything is crazy dreary and sopping wet.  I hardly ever turn lights on in our house during the day because we have so many windows, but today the house is dark.  Come on sunshine I need you in my life.  I feel like I have been racing around hard lately…it always feels like so much to do, but lately I’m unsure of what all I’m actually accomplishing.  Everything seems and feels half done.

Today has been full on Swaziland trip prep.  Booking flights, confirming information, getting team members up to date on what is going on and what is due when and where…oy vey.  It makes me sweaty and I feel like my blood pressure is slightly elevated 🙂  Most of all I am insanely excited.  We have a group of 10 this year and you guys it’s all Jesus.  I remember driving down the road in the 5am slot when I thought this trip was just not going to happen…we didn’t have the numbers and I felt like I had publicized all I could.  I told Jesus I only wanted this trip to happen if He did.  That was really hard for me because I really wanted this trip to happen no matter what, but I laid it out there and I prayed it on repeat.  And here we are and He receives every bit of the praise.  Insanely grateful is an understatement.

Beans and books…it’s our Valentines Day tradition.  Year after year.  And the kids still love it.

I might have talked two friends into doing a 1/2 marathon with me.  I like goals and I really like goals with friends.  Especially when neither one of them have ever run one.  One friend is mulling it over.  Another friend who shall remain nameless, errr Marcie, said and I quote “What??? Are you just trying to ruin everyone’s lives?”  End quote.  She is going to love that I quoted her on this and she’s also going to love when she crosses that finish line while holding my hand.  I’m going to make her hold my hand because she hates holding my hand.  Everyone wants to be friends with me 🙂

Life changer alert:  I saw this dressing recipe on some random video and holy moly.  Crazy crazy good.  I adjusted it a bit because I have a hard time following directions via fast moving video, but really, you just can’t mess this up…I don’t think.  Throw all the following into a chopper or food processor or whatever mixing device you have:  1 avocado, 1/2 cup cilantro, 1/2 lime squeezed, 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt (I actually used way less because I had like none to begin with.  Ha.) 2/3 cup water, 1 tsp salt, 1 tablespoon garlic powder and 1 tablespoon cumin.  Blend away.  I made this yesterday night and have already eaten it 3 times.  Whoa.

I packaged this sweet 8×10 custom order up today.  This was a hard one to let go of.  The color and the words…yes, He is still good.

And I fell pretty hard over these verses today:  Christ in us is no match!  He is truth…everything we need to know about ourselves and Him.

1 John 2:24-27   Stay with what you heard from the beginning, the original message.  Let it sink into your life.  If what you heard from the beginning lives deeply in you, you will live deeply in both Son and Father.  This is exactly what Christ promised: eternal life, real life!  I’ve written to warn you about those who are trying to deceive you.  But they’re no match for what is embedded deeply within you—Christ’s anointing, no less!  You don’t need any of their so-called teaching.  Christ’s anointing teaches you the truth on everything you need to know about yourself and him, uncontaminated by a single lie.  Live deeply in what you were taught.”

Hope your week is off to a fantastic start.

Happy Tuesday!

  2. That dressing sounds amazing! I bet you would also like this one: http://pinchofyum.com/5-minute-magic-green-sauce, that goes with this chicken: http://pinchofyum.com/the-best-3-ingredient-grilled-chicken. They are both unspeakably good, and so easy! [Due to the creepiness of my Instagram post yesterday about us being friends if we ever met, I won’t mention all the things from this post that just confirm that belief :).]
