Baking: Pinterest Style

So yesterday was our big bake day for our bake sale TOMORROW!  So excited.  You can check our all details for our

Missions Motorcycle Ride & Auto Show HERE.

When I took on the bake sale part of the fundraiser I decided I would finally put all those recipes I had pinned on Pinterest to the test and it did not disappoint.  I had zero whammies~  The kids helped me and we made a complete day of it…were talking 8am until around midnight.  They went to bed around 8, but that’s a lot of baking…they loved it and ate way too many goodies in the process.

The first thing I need in my kitchen when I start something of this matter…

Huddy is my allergic, hives, wheezing kind of kid.  Benadryl and an EpiPen are never far away 🙂  And yes, I used this twice yesterday.  He’s a small rock though.

Alright here is our bake day re-cap and links.  Thank you Pinterest!

BROWNIE COVERED OREOS:  Ummm, perfection.  I ended up putting them in cute cupcake holders and drizzling a little white chocolate over them as well.  Alone or coupled with some icecream…delicious.

PEANUT BUTTER “buckeye” PRETZEL BITES:  Maybe Josh’s favorite that I made.  They are amazing…really, really good.

EASY WHOOPIE PIES:  I am a huge fan of whoopie pies, in fact, I grew up with a love for whoopie pies.  My Maw-Maw has the best homemade recipe E.V.E.R.  With that said, this easy recipe gave her homemade a run for its money.  These were my most favorite…so crazy good and easy.  Go make them now.

*Disclaimer:  The batter is super thick.  I being semi old school and with a very small kitchen and practically zero counter and cabinet space still do not have a Kitchen Aid mixer, so I took on this recipe with my sad, little super old hand mixer…she’s been a good one.  In the end, the whoopie pie dough won and left me with a broken, smokin’ burnt up hand mixer.  This was my last recipe of the day, so it may have been all the previous baking that did her in and the whoopie pies just pushed her over the edge.  So I say stick with the recipe and use a stand mixer.*

And she did break with both batters full of dough.  That was fun.

HALLOWEEN SNACK MIX:  Easy, easy, easy.  And I didn’t have all of the ingredients, so just subbed in and left things out here and there.  Love it loaded in a big jar and a cute ribbon.

CHOCOLATE, PEANUT BUTTER & CARAMEL CLUB BARS:

Loved these.  It’s a great combination of sweet and salty.  Just plain yummy and fairly simple as well.  Harper loved making these.

ROLO COOKIES:  Do yourself a favor and just eat these right out of the oven…OMG!  So, super yummy and easy, easy, easy!  It also doesn’t hurt that there were a few leftover Rolos and the kids and I helped ourselves to those as well.

WHITE CHOCOLATE DIPPED PEANUT BUTTER RITZ CRACKERS:  I grew up on these and had totally forgotten about them.  My aunts used to always bring these to family reunions and I loved them.  They also brought lots of white chocolate dipped Oreos.  And then I saw someone had pinned them on Pinterest and the deliciousness all came flooding back.  LOVE these!  Of course, the kids liked the sprinkles part.

S’MORES COOKIES:  Ummm, these are like super, tasty and really do compare to a s’more, except in a smushy, good cookie form.  And the dough alone is out of this world…so soft and smooth and just plain good.  Josh and I both really enjoyed these.  Can you tell we did lots of taste testing yesterday?  Hey, we have to make sure they are not poisonous 🙂

EASY BLONDE BROWNIES:  They are in fact insanely easy and they are in fact awesome.  I can attest to it.  They are so good hot or cool, but I may have eaten a hot one with icecream…HAS.TO.BE.SINFUL.

I also made some SNICKERDOODLE CHEX MIX that I found on the side of the Chex box.  INCREDIBLE.  I am a huge popcorn fan and this was just awesome.

And no bake sale is complete without some Rice Krispy Treats.  And for a little look-appeal I added a little chocolate drizzle.

Please come buy some treats from me tomorrow…maybe some key fobs too and help out a great cause.

So excited for the Missions Motorcycle Ride & Auto Show + Silent Auction & Bake Sale tomorrow.  I’m ready and now I just need to go run off the amount of sweetness I devoured yesterday!

Happy Friday!
