Since getting word Friday that Amon’s case was cleared with the US Embassy it has been a whirlwind. Everyday has been pure craziness. I did squeeze in a small celebration…cheersing to OUR SON.
So here I am. Up way too late. Nerves have completely set in. In less than 12 hours I board a plane headed to Ethiopia to bring our son home. I need to type that again. In less than 12 hours I board a plane headed to Ethiopia to bring our son home. And even though plane tickets are booked and we have an embassy appointment so many things are still just hanging in the balance. We need very big bold prayers. No matter what God has planned, Amon is finally coming home. No matter what I am going to give Him all the praise He so rightly deserves.
I packed light. The goal: Get him and get home. The end. Not much time for anything else. Praying God shows us grace and favor along the way.
My bags are packed and I’m ready to go. Ashley is packed and ready to go. Tomorrow I meet her in D.C. and we embark on this nerve wracking journey together. Ashley is my best friend and I know she’s going to be a rock.
I’m ready to see Amon. Ready to hold him and kiss him and just smother him in some major love. I’m ready for baby world and ready to dress him in all his sweet digs. I’m ready for Ashley to meet him. I’m ready for everyone to meet him. He’s amazing. He’s a blessing. I’m ready for our family to be together. I’m ready for our last “waiting for you” picture. We need to be all together…our family needs to be complete.
So I am asking you to please join us and all our many prayer warriors who are covering Amon and this last leg of the journey in prayer. Please pray for this trip. Please pray that God would go ahead of us and make our way. Pray for the people who will handle his case and read over his paperwork…that they would show compassion and empathy and that we would find favor with the US Embassy and that our appointment would go exactly as God would have it.
And please pray for our flight home. I have not mentioned or discussed here on my site, but Amon has some health issues that will require serious treatment when we get home and make flying a very tricky matter. We have prepared the best we can and I am having to hand this over to God…it’s in His hands, but who better to hold my son.

Praying! No idea if Amon has a heart problem, but I flew home with my daughter who had a life-threatening heart condition. I was nervous, but she did great! If this is the case for you, I’d be happy to pass on our experience. God bless!
